I am related to a Herman Werk, who was born in Germany to my great-grandmother, Emma. Emma Werk Mietzner was born on 10-15-1886 and died on 12-24-1961. Herman was her first son and he was born out of wedlock. Emma later married a Mietzner and had my Mother, Else. I do not know if he ever immigrated to America. I do know that he was famous for climbing the Zugspitze at 74 years of age. I have some other information if anyone is interested.
