[Anyone who reads the geneaology.com board as well, I apologize for the cross-post]

My gggrandmother Sophia Werts was b 1856 in PA, and I've found her father (finally) -- William Werts -- but am still stuck on which Werts family he belongs to, plus who her mother might be.

Here's what I have:

1850 - can't pinpoint the right William Werts anywhere (yet)

1860 Decatur Twp, Mifflin Co. PA
William Werts 32 Farmer --/100 PA
Sophia C. " 4 -- -- PA
Peter " 2 -- -- PA
William " 5/12 -- -- PA
Hannah " 5/12 -- -- PA

No wife listed. He was living next door to the Mowry family, whose daughter Rebecca would become his wife, who then had 2 additional kids. It is possible that the census was just plain wrong in 1860, and Rebecca, listed as a spinster, actually wasn't, and she just happened to be there at the time. In that case, Rebecca would be the mother of these other 4 kids. But I rather think the former is true.

James " 17 school, farm laborer PA/PA/PA
Catherine " 16 school PA/PA/PA

So, if any of this sounds familiar, and anyone knows who the parents might be of this William Werts, or the name of his first wife, please let me know!
