LONE TREE, Iowa - Velma V. Stratton Westfall, 92, of Lone Tree, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Services will be at the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree. The Rev. Ann Rouse will officiate. Burial will be at Lone Tree Cemetery in Lone Tree.
Pallbearers will be Coyt Sexton, Rick Westfall, Kurt Westfall, Mark Westfall, John Pomeroy and Don Wollrab. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Westfall, David Westfall, Todd Wollrab and Lon Westfall. A luncheon will be held at the Lone Tree American Legion following the services.
The organist will be Andrea Brennaman and vocalist will be Layla Holding.
Visitation will be at the Sorden Lewis Funeral Home in Lone Tree with a Rebecca service.
Mrs. Westfall was born on Feb. 26, 1908, in Louisa County, the daughter of Daniel and Laura Solomon Stratton. She married Coyt M. Westfall on Nov. 28, 1925, in Wapello.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, 63 year member of Rebecca Lodge, Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, Fremont Homemakers, honorary lifetime member of the Girl Scouts, City Farmerettes, and a Gold Star Mother. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Westfall and his wife, Vera Jean, of Hollister, Mo. and Gerald Westfall and his wife, Shirley, of Jacksonville, Mo.; three daughters, Jean Sexton and her husband, Maynard, of Lone Tree, Joann Pomeroy and her husband, Glen, of Bettendorf and Judy Evans and her husband Terry of St. Paul, Ark.; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Bernard Westfall; a brother, Lance Stratton; and a half brother, Claude Stratton
