Trying to trace Mary Elizabeth Westfield, born 1865 in Mullingar, Eire. Her mother is Mary Sarah (nee Miller) and her father George John Warner Westfield. Her father was serving with the army in Ireland when she was born.
The family were then posted to Preston, Lancs in approx 1875. When her mother died in 1878 she and her sister were sent to a military orphanage ( I believe).
I have found a Mary of the right age and place of birth on the 1901 census. She is now Mary Maker married to John Maker who is from Manchester, Lancs. they have 2 children Ellen 11yrs and Mary 10yrs. Both children were born in New York, USA and I have also found a Mary and a John Maker who arrived at Ellis Island, US in 1893.
Does anyone know if Mary Elizabeth is Mary Maker or know of a Mary Elizabeth Westfield who fits the facts.
