It is currently for sale! BD

Clara Wey was the daughter of Herman C. and Jeannette Ambs. Herman (H.C.) owned hardware stores in Kansas and Oklahoma. H.C. Wey Hardware. They lived in Kirwin, Kansas before they moved to Wichita. Their home in Wichita is listed as a historic home. I will be happy to share the information I have on the family with you. HC and Jeannette were my great-grandparents.

From the obit I have placed below you will see John Henry Wey's birthday was 1871 not 1872, Hariet died in 1872.

I have a question, do you know where Harriet is buried? I found Thomas and his second wife in Union Cemetery in Arrowsmith but not Harriet.

My great great Grandmother Mahalia Matlock was her sister.

Obituary
LeRoy Journal
Friday August 27, 1937

HENRY WEY SUCCUMB TO HEART ATTACK THURSDAY MORNlNG

Has Been Afflicted For Several Years. His mother died when he was very young, and he was taken into the home of Phillip Hileman near Arrowsmith, where he made his home until his marriage to Mary D. Brittin, December 2. 1890, after which he farmed near Arrowsmith and LeRoy and for the last 32 ears was tenant on the Bennett farm, where he died. He was a member of the I. O. O.
I have just recently started to follow the Wey line seriously. I too am descended from Mary Eliza Wey and Jesse Toney. Mary and Jesse are my ggreat granparents. Line continues through Toney line: Charley, Clarence Eldon Wilder (known as Eldon), Florence (my mom). Curious how you are related.

The Richland County, Wisconsin Genealogy website indicates Peyton's parents as Henry Wey and Mary ?.

You probably know this but Peyton and Rachel, Jesse and Sarah, along with all of my Toney relatives are buried in Westfork Cemetary near Excelsior, Wisconsin.

Charlie

I'm related through their daughter Mary Eliza Wey married to Jesse Toney. I would love to exchange family tree information. I just recently got a lead on Mary Wey. Or if anyone else would like to exchange information on either the WEY or MINK surname, feel free to contact me at zwebgenealogy@yahoo.com!

Thanks for your time.

Take care,
Darcy Moran
Wey family in Illinois

I am seeking information on the Wey family in Illinois. Louise Wey, b: 11/8/1842 in Hesse-Cassel Germany, d: 12/26/1914 in Chicago, IL was my great-grandmother. I believe she had a brother, Henry J Wey who also lived in Chicago and was married to Bertha E Harris. I have no dates on either of these people except for a marriage date of 12/24/1892 in Cook County, IL.

Louise Wey was the 2nd wife to Fred Busse, my great-grandfather. She had a son, Fred C. Busse and a daughter Martha who married a Max Weltman. Her husband, Fred, also had a daughter, Sophia Busse from a previous marriage who married one Albert Seagel. From what I can determine, Sophia and Albert had three children; Albert jr, Charles and Emma.

If anyone has information on these families I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. It's been a very tough search.

Sincerely,

Jim Busse
