My grandfather, by marriage, changed his name from Lester Earl Weyant to Earl Wiand when he moved from PA to Michigan. He was married to and had children, but was in trouble with the law (and I believe in prison for a short time) then divorced his wife.

I'm trying to find out more about him before his move to MI. My grandmothers name was Betty Bussard before she married Lester but had changed it from Willa to Betty because she was told she would not be successful with the name Willa.

Does any of this fit into anyone else's family tree?
