I've run into a brick wall while looking for the parents of James Wheeler (born November 28, 1748 in Greenwich, Hampshire County, Massachusetts). Married to "Rachel". I know that for most of the time he was having children, he lived in Chesterfield, Cheshire County, NH. Some of his children migrated to Jefferson County, NY. I don't know if James died in NH or NY.

I've been told that James' father was Joseph and have been told he was Ephraim. THE HISTORY OF THE Wheeler FAMILY IN AMERICA indicates that his father was Joseph and that he had a brother, Benjamin.

If Joseph was James' father, who were Joseph's parents?

I'd love it if someone out there can definitively answer these questions. I've been "hunting" for forever.
