John Wheeler was born in Rehoboth, Mass. in 1787. He was ordained in Ontario County, New York,(where he also married to Mary Franklin in 1808 and some of his children were born there), then moved his family to Huron County, Ohio, where he started the first Baptist Church and continued his family. When he died in Huron County August 4, 1878, his obituary stated he left 92 descendents through his 9 children: Aaron; Almira; Benoni; Chauncey; Mary Ann; Samuel B.; Slyvester; John H. and my grandfather Calvin Wheeler.
