I am trying to find out why a Hilda Whipkey(married name)of Pittsburgh, Pa. had passed along to her grandkids two 1915-1920 photo albums of my grandfather Harry Edward Lanning. These photo albums were carefully kept in this Whipkey family for close to sixty years. The grandson of Hilda and the grandson's wife were good enough to keep these treasured albums without knowing anything about the Lanning family. By chance they were able to connect the albums to my brother, Livingston James Lanning in St. Louis. My brother and I were thrilled to see photos of our parents, grandfather and great uncles (J. Frank and Charles Stearns Lanning). We never knew our grandfather and had never seen pictures of him. The mystery we are trying to discover is where the connection is between Hilda and Andrew Whipkey and Harry E. and Lucille (Jewett) Lanning. Were they related, close friends, co-workers? I would appreciate if anyone has any info that might be helpful.
