Hi, I was wondering if you had information as to Whisenhunt in VZ co, TX linked to those of AR? I happened to check a customer id for cig at work yesterday and her last name Whisenhunt, said xhusband name they lived about 3 hours south town Glen? I went to library and asked, we came up with Pike Co. AR there was so much info on Whisenhunt in Pike Co. AR. Reason for question is my Whisenhunt George b. abt 1803 NC lived in VZ co. TX shows up in 1850. 1870 census. I searched for Barbary Whisenhunt I come up with 1870 NC different family, yet trying to make a connection there, but more at this point trying to see if the ones in AR are related to ones in TX than to NC. Do you have any connecting info?
Linda Grady

Hello, James. Welcome to the large group of researchers in the Whisenhunt families and various variations of spelling. There are hundreds of 'Whisenhunts' in Oklahoma.

I believe your grandfather's family, back to your great grandfather, is documented in Raymond Whisnant's data at this location http://raymondwhisnant.com/p24828.htm .

If you have more information regarding your great grandparents, James Henry Whisenhunt and Rose Adkins Whisenhunt, it may help establish how your family connects to the larger family.

Good luck in your research, and again, Welcome.
Meg Whisenhunt

WHISENHUNT

I have a problem... I have two differant birthdates for my great grandfather--William A. Whisenhunt or "Bill", as he was called. His death certificate gave his d.o.b. as 6-25-91 (1891). The informant was "Records from C. S. G. Hospital". Now, I have a draft card that William (himself) filled out and it says his d.o.b. was 23 June 1892. The 1900 census also reports June 1892. His headstone only has "1891" on it. Which birthdate do I use? I'm inclined to use the earlier records---esp. since the military draft card was filled out by William himself, in 1917. Anyone have any feedback? A professional opinion, maybe? Help...

ISO Edward W Whisenhunt of Ada, Oklahoma

Born 1868, died 1945. Died in or around Ada, Oklahoma and is buried in the Rosedale cemetery there beside his wife, Amanda (d. 1956) and their son, Grey (d. 1918 in WWI in France.)

Trying to locate Edward's parents' names and a date of death, if possible. He reported the death of my husband's grandfather, Louis N. Whisenhunt, but we can't figure out how our family trees intersect!

He married Audie Massengale in 1923. They had a boy who died around a year old I believe. I can't find any details about him. Then in 1947 they took in (and later adopted) their newborn niece (my mother). I would love to check out your website and hopefully learn more. Please, let me know if you have anymore questions.

Looking for Phil Wisenhunt, 1999 Ancestry Poster & John H Parker info

In 1999 a Phil Wisenhunt posted Messages about the family of John H Parker born 14Mar1838 in Caroline Co VA who moved to Bedford Co TN (about 1841 by my research). John H Parker married Lucinda C Brown 21 Jun 1866 in Bedford Co TN. He was still in Bedford Co TN in 1880. His daughter Virginia Tennessee PARKER was born 18MAR1883 in TX. John & family were in Collin Co TX in 1900 Census and in Tulsa OK by the 1910 Census. Phil Wisenhunt says He died 8Dec1917 in Tulsa Co, Tulsa OK and is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery in Tulsa. What I am really after is the Source and details of the Birth in Caroline Co VA. I am descended from John H Parker's Sister Caroline Virginia Parker who married Peyton Bearden. I also have info on the Birth family of John H Parker.
John H Parker and Lucinda C Brown had the following children (who apparently mostly migrated to TX and at least some to OK):
Eugine H. PARKER b: AUG 1868 in TN
William Franklin PARKER b: 9 DEC 1870 in TN
Nannie PARKER b: 1873 in TN
James L. PARKER b: 1876 in TN
Mary PARKER b: 1877 in TN
Emmett Fared PARKER b: SEP 1880 in TN
Virginia Tennessee PARKER b: 18 MAR 1883 in TX
Vannie PARKER b: 27 OCT 1885 in TX

That's intense! Mary Francis Mitchell is my Great Great Grandmother. I never had the chance to meet her, but was practically raised by her granddaughter (My grandmother). I have LOTS of information on that line thanks to my all my grandma's work... which she passed on to me. I have this AMAZING picture of John Abner, Mary Francis and their children. (They only had 10 that lived.)

I've taken the Whisenhunt line all the way to the 1500's in Switzerland (and the last name Visinand). But I'm wondering if you know who Issac's father is, I don't find an Issac in my records... but (knowing that family like I do) it wouldn't be unheard of for that to be a middle name. What is your email address.... I'd love to add you to my "family contact" list, and i could send you the picture that I have.

-Jennifer Golden
jenniferkgolden@yahoo.com

I have an indirect link to John Abner Whisenhunt. My Grandfather, John William Phillips' first wife, Ida Belle Mitchell's sister Mary Francis Mitchell married John Abner Whisenhunt.

John Abner and Mary Francis had 15 children.

My father also tells a story where my grandfather confided to him before he died that he got into a fight with an Isaac Whisenhunt and said it was a situation of kill or be killed and my grandfather wound up killing this guy and throwing his body down a well. He confided in Dad as this bore heavy on my grandfather's heart. This would have had to be between 1912 and 1914 when My grandfather moved back to Alabama. In fact, I believe this was what made him move. I have researched Isaac Whisenhunt and found him in Polk Arkansas in 1910 but he persists in the 1920 census so maybe he really wasn't dead and crawled out of the well.
