Still out there? My mother's maiden name was Whitbeck. I can only get back a few generations:
Jane Elizabeth Whitbeck 1923-1993
Walter William Whitbeck 1892-1961
Clarence Lee Whitbeck 1867-1951
S W Whitbeck, known as "Frank" born about 1834 in PA or NY. I think these guys were related to a Gilbert Whitbeck who can be found in Shebona IL mid 1800s. I find SW on the 1870 census, Fort Dodge, Webster Co IA, but by 1880 his wife is Mrs. George Smith.

I am trying to find some information on my Great, Great, Great grandmother whose maiden name was whitbeck. I do not know her first name, but I do know that she married a Mr. Killmar (I don't know his first name either) and that they had at least three children: Henry Killmar (My Great-Great Grandfather), Ruth & Urial. Henry was born on July 12, 1800 at or near West Troy, NY. I know that Henry Killmar married an Elmina Morgan and they had 8 children, the youngest of which was named Lucius Whitbeck Killmar, born July 24th, 1851 at Watertown, NY. Later some of the family migrated to Michigan. I have a copy of Lucius' recollections that he wrote before he passed and some pictures of family members that I can't identify and many that I can from the 1800's. Please let me know if you have any info that might pertain to this. Thank you

Who died at his father's home near Creechville at 12 o'clock Saturday Feb 16, 1901. Rev. J.L. Smith preached his funeral next day at Telico, with a large congregation present.

Orville was near 16 years of age and became a member of the Methodist church two year ago and lived a consistent member until his death.
Yes he is gone! Dear father and mother will never again hear his familiar voice in the home; but may his good deeds be examples which his brothers and sisters will follow.

How nice of you to inquire. Your photo is of my Husband's GGGrandfather(James Whitbeck's) brother. He is Almon Case Whitbeck, son of CorneliusWhitbeck and Mary Case. I would love to see a copy of the photo as James Whitbeck committed suicide and left his son Eliot with little information on the Sodus family. I can document our lineage if you need it. I don't find any record of Gabriel Witbeck serving in the Rev War. I do have him with baptismal records, marriage to Morytje Fine in the Luthern Church .
He is the GGrandson of Jan Thomas, the first of the Witbeck's to be at Fort Orange. Let me know if I can help further.
