I have looked again at my records and noticed that 'Caraline Whitbread', aged 20, was living with Robert and Mary Kew in 1841. The 'bread' is written above the 'Whit'. This can only be the Caroline who married James Beckingham in 1849. In which case, the Mary born 1791 would have been her aunt. The other possible Mary, born 1786, would have been her 1st cousin once removed. This Mary was daughter of John Whitebread and Elizabeth Spackman. Two other Marys were christened to a John and Elizabeth, both in 1797. It has been assumed that the first one died, and the 2nd and third may have been born 1796 and 1797, but maybe there were two John & Elizabeths. Unfortunately I don't yet have any burial records for Easton Royal - that should clarify a few things.

According to my records, Robert and Mary had at least 6 children - Ann (1812), James (1814), Jane (1816), Mary Jane (1821), William (1826) and John (1829). If Mary was born c.1776 she would have been well into her fifties when John came along. Robert probably died 2Q 1845 and Mary possibly 4Q 1862. However, I cannot find Mary in 1851 or 1861.
