Surnames: gilbert, whitby, bowers, zeis
Ijust found the 1841 England census...
It lists places such as....
civil parish (Twerton)
hundred (Wellow)
county/island (Somerset)
country (England)
registration district(Bath)
Sub registration district (twerton)
Can any one help me understand what these "places" are as compared to what we call them in the United States?
