DONALD E. WHITE
Donald E. White, 82, a lifelong resident of Ottawa County died in Asbury Hospital in Salina on Tuesday, April 9, 1991. Mr. White was born March 28, 1909 on a farm near Bennington, the son of Roy Porter White and Mildred (Boster) White.
He attended Sleepy Hollow Grade School and Bennington High School graduating with the class of 1927.
He was married April 23, 1932 to T. Leona Howe who survives him. He is also survived by the children of their marriage, Mrs. Joann L. Harper and her husband Kermit of Leawood, Mrs. Janet S. Graham and husband Denny of Bennington, and Mr. Donald E. White, Jr. and wife Judy of Hillsdale, NJ. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mr. White was a farmer and cattleman near Bennington from his youth until his retirement in the mid-1970's when he and Mrs. White relocated to their home in Bennington. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lila Mae White.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. today, Thursday April 18, at the United Church of Bennington with the Rev. Ron Robbins officiating. Burial will be in the Bennington Cemetery. Shields Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests memorials to the church.
