I seek to identify family and confirm the vital records of Phyllis Mary (Mollie) Whitelaw, c.1915-1960, violinist and singer. Mollie trained initially in Tasmania and was sent on a scholarship provided by the Tasmanian musical fraternity to the Melbourne Conservatorium where she completed the Dip.Mus. in 1937. I cannot find her death registration in Queensland (believed to be leukemia) because I have not found the name of the person she married about 1939 probably in Tasmania. Mollie worked with orchestras in Melbourne, Hobart and, v. briefly, Brisbane where she died. I am not 'family' and cannot progress this enquiry without some insider family knowledge and assistance - please!
