Duke Whiteley (age 27) and Betty Stansfield (age 25) were married at Elland Church, Yorkshire on Aug. 16, 1847. Duke's father was John Whiteley, a weaver. Betty's father was James Stansfield, a worsted spinner. Witnesses at the wedding were John Brook and Amos Crowther.
I am not related to these people, but I found a framed copy of their marriage record (complete with photos of them) in an antique store in Wisconsin Dells, WI, in case there are any descendants out there who are interested.
