Sandy, we are related. Samuel was the son of Nathaniel Whiting and Miss. Hanna Dwight. He was born Dec.30, 1649 in Dedham, Mass. He married Miss. Sarah Metcalf, Nov. 23, 1676. She was born March 3, 1658. Their children were: Joseph, b. Dec. 22,1677, died Jan. 28, 1678. Samuel, b. April 20,1686, died Jan. 16, 1721. Jeremiah, b. April 12, 1695 . Michael, b. Nov. 4, 1697, died on the 16th of Dec. following. Josia b. May 30, 1701. Samuel died in Dedham on Dec. 4, 1727. Sarah died Junr 16, 1701 or maybe 04. The print on my copy is not good. Josiah Whiting was my next link in the chain. He married at Weston, Mass., Feb. 28, 1728 to Elizabeth Grant of Concord., Mass. By their union were born Samuel, b. March 26, 1727, Caleb, b. Aug. 19, 1729, died in 1818, Josiah and Jason completed the family. ( I know, the dates show they had their first child one year before they were married.) I am sorry I do not have any more information for you on Jeremiah. The information I just quoted came from the 1889 PORTRAIT AND BIOGRAPHICAL ALBUM of Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin. If you can get to the county library where your mother grew up, you may be pleasantly surprised to find your information there. Soneone in my line went to a lot of trouble to keep good records. (At least I hope they are good. I have been going by them for a long time. Good luck. Sincerely Janet
