I find the WHITLEY surname connected to my WHILDEN surname
in VA-------------wondering if there could be any connection?
The WHITLEYS (WHILDENS) listed all have Dutch given names
and are listed as Black, so your comments intrigue me.
WHILDEN is also connected to WEEDEN,WEELDON,WILDEN,WHELDON,
and I would love any info that my help me figure ALL out.

Services for Walter Olen Whitley jr, 21, of
Colorado Springs, Colo., who was killed in
an automobile accident Saturday in Blanchard,
will be at 10 am Wednesday in Bill Eisenhour

He was born in Fresno, Calif., had lived in
Colorado most of his life and had been in
Oklahoma City a month at the time of his
death. He was Catholic.

Survivors inslude a sister, Mrs Gloria Ellis,

MRS. CHARLES L. RUPERT
Mary M. Whitley, daughter of Robert and Jane Whitley, was born on the family homestead near Delphos, January 6, 1877, where she spent her girlhood with her sisters and brothers. She departed this life June 11, 1953, at the Evergreen Nursing Home in Wichita, Kansas.
On November 15, 1899, Mary Whitley was married to Ira M. Girton and to this union one daughter, Dorothy, was born. After Ira's death on April 20, 1904, she lived in Minneapolis with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Girton.
Mary M. Girton and Charles L. Rupert were united in marriage on February 27, 1907 and they resided for a year on a farm in Republic county near Courtland, Kansas. In 1908, they moved to Ottawa county where their five children were born. One daughter died in infancy. The Ruperts resided on their farm home 41 years. Mrs. Rupert especially enjoyed life with her family. After Mr. Rupert's death May 26, 1949, she spent some time with her daughters, Zelma Root of Manhattan and Dorothy Chaney of Junction City.
Mrs. Rupert is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Chaney of Junction City, Mrs. Zelma Root of Manhattan, three sons, Leonard Rupert and Richard Rupert of Minneapolis, Kenneth Rupert of Wichita; one brother, David McClintock and one sister, Hessie McClintock, of Delphos; seven grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
The body was brought to Minneapolis to the Fouts Funeral Home. Services were held at the Presbyterian church, of which she was a member, Saturday morning, June 13th at 10 o'clock, with the Rev. Edward E. Hale officiating. Miss Marianna Wilcox at the organ and Miss Connie Eikelberger as soloist, furnished the music. The pallbearers were Ernest Steinbrock, Craig Rees, Dale Peters, Walter Wesley, Ernest Watson and Harry Bower. Interment was in Highland cemetery.

We share the same relatives. Jesse and Mary Louellen were my great grandparents. Their son, John, was my grandfather. John Wade married Evie Fowler. They had five children, Jesse (Mike), Laura (my mother), Margaret, Carolyn, and Jim. If you need more information let me know.

Irish French Whitley family

Hi

I am researching my grandfather brother Henry Goodey's, wife and family.
My grandfather was George Goodey his brother was Henry Goodey who married Florence Whitley in 1908 in Holborn, London, England.
Florence Whitley's parents were Gustave (Henry?) Whitley born abt. 1853 in France and Louisa (Collins?) born abt. 1858 in Marylebone, London, England.
I have yet to establish when Gustave Whitley and Louisa were married and where.
Their children including Florence were all born in London.

At present I believe that Gustave Whitley's parents were George Whitley a Professor of Languages born abt. 1823 in Ireland, and Evelina Hache born abt. 1835 in Paris France, who were married in France I am not sure where but possibly in Amiens where Gustave's siblings were born.

Any help to clarify these issues would be gratefully appreciated.

She is my great grandmother. Tatamus married Amos Cullens in NC. My granddad, John Collins, changed his name from Cullens after he divorced his first wife and married my grandmom, Bessie Irene May Hovis. They moved to Massillon, OH and then were married in Wheeling, WV. After then they moved to Pennsville, NJ. If you are related to Tatamus, you might know my mom, Hazel Lodge. When mom was growing up they would visit John Collins family in VA and Bessie's family in Hagerstown, MD. I have a copy of Tatamus obit when she died in Norfolk, VA. Hoping someone would have information on Amos Cullens and Amos's and Tatamus ancestors.

Hi" My grandmother was Pearle Whitley from Blount County, Alabama. I too am looking for information on her. She had a twin by the name of Earl. Her Dad was an Allan Whitney in Blount County. He married my great aunt Pera Lee (Not sure of the spelling of her first name)Kelley. It's s little convoluted. She disappeared when my Dad was about 5 or 6 years old and was never heard from again. Funny how that works. I met a "double" related cousin a few months ago. We were shocked to discover that we were related two ways. She turns out to be related through Thomas Marvin Whitley (in addition to being a Gentry). So, she's related to your husband, too. The Whitley's had some huge families.

Yep this is the WM Whitley I was searching for. This looks great. Ruth Hoffman was my husband's grandmother. Scotty was not Ruth's first husband but Delores Anna is my mother in law. Daughter of Ruth.

I've been out of the research loop for a while and keep getting little nudges to get back into all this. It has been a long time so I'll have to sharpen my pencil and get back to it. I'll dig out my stuff and see what else I can offer if anything.

You are the first to reply. This is research I was doing for my mother inlaw. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of information. I'm going off of no written documentation and only verbal info. Very vague to say the least. Do you have birth years for the two?

Henry of Anson, NC, to Cherokee then Fayette, Al: abt 1795 - 1880+

Does anyone know if this is the Henry that is brother to Allen? I actually do not know where he goes after 1830. I only know of my Henry by family word: Anson Co., born about the same time as Allen. Fayette County is only two counties over west of Blount County where my Allen blood runs. And Saint Clair and Etowah, too, actually. Does anyone come down from this guy and know his family? Thanks, John.

I meant 1840, i don't know after 1840. Is it him in Cherokee (1850) and Fayaette (1860 -1880+) Counties, Al., married to that Nancy woman? Was he a veteran of some kind?
