Peter WHITLOCK 1873 NJ Guardian of Children of Perrine CARSON, Deceased

Trenton State Gazette, 18 Jan 1873

Before the Orphan's Court, a petition was presented of Moses CARSON and Henrietta CARSON for the appointment of Peter WHITLOCK as guardian. Also, the petition was heard of William H. CARSON, Edward W. CARSON and Henrietta BELLERJEAU, children of Perrine CARSON, deceased, for the appointment of Peter WHITLOCK as guardian, the former guardian (unnamed, but possibly Peter CLINE) having died. "The estate of these parties consists of a bounty from the general government."

Perrine CARSON served in the Civil War, in Co. I of the 38th New Jersey regiment, as did one Peter W. WHITLOCK. CARSON died in 1866 from injuries received while in service.

Has anyone researched Peter WHITLOCK of Mercer Co., New Jersey in 1873? Was Peter WHITLOCK, Guardian, the same as Peter W. WHITLOCK, Civil War veteran? If the same, was there a relationship between the two men outside of their Civil War service?

Please lookup a name for me in Dixon Co. The name is Caty Ann Apgar Whitlock. She also is recorded as Catherine and Katrina. Her death date is Feb. 23, 1882. I have had research done in Ponca City Cemetery, she is not recorded there.

Looking for any information on the above name.
Child was born Jan. 1960 in Charlottetown, PEI and adopted 6 May, 1960 by Erickson family. Parents names not on birth certificate or adoption papers but mother was born 1944 and was 16 years of age.
Unknown where child was after birth and before adoption but possibly an orphanage as the adoption was handled by the Catholic church.
Any information will be gratefully received as she would love to know about her roots.

I'm sure by now 2 years later you probably have this information but I've just started researching this part of my tree and Mary Whitlock b. 19 Dec 1774 in Freehold NJ is the daughter of John Whitlock (1733-1777) also of Freehold and Lydia Bowne or Browne (1732-1832) of Freehold. John fought in the continental army during the revolution and was killed at the battle of Navesink/Neversink. I am a direct descendant (well we're almost positive - just missing one link we can't find on a census) of Mary's sister, Sarah. I have 4 more generations of Whitlocks traced to the 1650s & a large amount from Lydia's family as well.

I have an original Cabinet Card photograph of “M. Whitlock”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in Bennett, Lancaster Co., Nebraska, and she looks to be about age 20.

The only Whitlock family in Lancaster Co., NE in that time frame is found in the 1880 Lancaster Co. census, showing parents James and Nancy, with daughter Millissa B. Whitlock, age 7.

I have an original Cabinet Card photograph of “Hattie Whitlock”, taken which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in Terre Haute (Vigo Co.) IN, and she looks about 30 years old.

I found Hattie in the 1900 census for Vigo Co., living in Fayette, IN. Hattie A. was age 46, with birthdate Sep 1853. Married to William Whitlock, whose DOB was May 1831. They had been married 30 years, and she had two children with two living.

Thank you for responding. I had been given the information except they said it was the Battle of Monmouth. What I do not have is the parents, or even siblings, of this Benjamin Griggs! Another Griggs is the Elizabeth Ellen Griggs who married Luke Whitlock and ended up in Lorain Co., Ohio. I am presently going back over all my work and checking for parents of spouses. In the 1960s, the descendants of Robert Mitchell Whitlock and Lucinda Schoolcraft Purvis had family reunions at the My Old Kentucky Home campground. I attended as the granddaughter of Lorena Miller, nee Whitlock, daughter of Robert Luther Whitlock, son of Robert Mitchell Whitlock. I would love to get in contact with any who attended those reunions - to share stories and genealogies of the family.

Anyone do a look-up in the book, "A History of Kelley and Mabel Whitlock and Family," written by Neola Whitlock Marietta of Kalamazoo, MI 1987? Looking for a Whitlock family that may have left children with a Kelley family. Could be in South Carolina, Virginia or Georgia between 1750-1850. Any help is very much appreciated.
