My father, who served in Europe in WWII, died in 2003 and my mother died in 2007. In cleaning out her home, I found a lot of momentoes, old letters, etc. I found a reference to a Howard Whitney, U.S. Army, Camp Hood, TX, who received a gift from a Chaplin, a Mr. Shaw. The date is June 1, 194?? (the last number is torn off.) There is also a notation "For Jeammies/Jeannies folks call 48907 Wichita".

I've done some searching for Howard Whitney, but can't find anything that appears to tie in with the Howard above. I would like very much to find Mr. Whitney or any of his descendants to see if we can figure out the connection to my father.
