Elizabeth Whooley 1st married John Whooley abt 1776, Botetourt, Va they had 2 children, John c 1777/78 and Rebecca b 5 Jul 1780 Lincoln Co, Ky, 2nd she married David Hogan on 12 Jan 1786 Lincoln, Ky. they had 8 children.
David was brother of Prosser Hogan who married Elizabeth's sister Mary Whooley, d/o Christopher & Libby Whooley.
David & Elizabeth had 8 children that I have found, could be more.

Davd b 2 Oct 1759 Orange Co, Va and died 22 Feb Carter Co, Ky. s/o Jame Hogan

Elizabeth b abt 1760 Botetourt, Va and died aft 1860 census dated 13 Jun 1860 Boyd Co, Ky

Mary & Prosser Hogan are my gr gr gr grandparents

My direct ancestor is Isom Hogan (b. 26Sept1806), s.o. David Hogan (b. 2Oct1759) who m. Betsy Wholey (b. abt 1775)

Have you learned anything new regarding this couple? Particularly interested in David Hogan's antecedents. Have learned that his son Prosser married Elizabeth's niece/sister? Mary Whooley, but have not confirmed that. Look forward to hearing from you. Ann

SISTER LEONARDI WHOOLEY, CCVI, died at Villa de Matel Center on
Thursday, December 10, 1998. Sister was born on October 9, 1917, the daughter
of Patrick Whooley and Mary Buckley of Co. Cork, Ireland. Sister
entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word on
July 2, 1933, and made Final Profession of Religious Vows on June 6,
1945. Sister served as Accountant and Director in the business offices of
many of the Congregation's institutions, namely St. Theresa and Hotel
Dieu Hospitals in Beaumont, Texas; St. Joseph Hospital in Houston; St.
Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Arkansas; and St. Mary Hospital in
Galveston, TX. She served as Hospital Treasurer for St. Frances Cabrini
Hospital, Alexandria, LA. Sister is survived by three brothers, Diarmuid and
Tadg Whooley of Co. Cork, Ireland, and Patrick John Whooley of Dublin,
Ireland; and three sisters, Sister Frances Therese Whooley, CCVI, of
Nassau Bay, Texas, Sister Ann Whooley of Co. Cork, Ireland, and Sister
Rita Whooley of Chesire, England. Wake Services will begin at 5:00 pm,
Friday, December 11, 1998, at Villa de Matel Chapel, 6510 Lawndale
Avenue, Houston. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday,
December 12, 1998, at Villa de Matel Chapel. Interment will be in the
adjacent Convent Cemetery.

Cathrine 1871, Daniel 1873, Tim 1876. They came from the
districk of Timoleague Tim was a horse-shoeer.

Elizabeth "Betsy" Whooley whom wed to David Hogan,
was perchance the Daughter of William Whooley, one and
the same with, the William Whooley whom provisioned, the
American Colonists, during the Independence period and is
thus recalled, as one of the Colonial Patriots, of that era.
Elizabeth Whooley and David Hogan are mentioned briefly in a
few of the early, and scarce references of that period.
Allthough she - Elizabeth - is of then mentioned as "Betsy" Whooley.
Their Daughter was Mary Polly Hogan whom wed to John Lovejoy
of Maryland.
Elizabeth Whooley was my g'_g'_g'_g'_g'_Grandmother.
What is missing are the detail data and info' of the certain
ancestry of Elizabeth "Betsy" Whooley and also of David Hogan
