COLUMBUS: A private graveside service for Elsie Whyde Weaver, age 99, will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Pastor Calvin Murray officiating.
Elsie was born April 21, 1911 in Licking County, Ohio to the late Carey Edward Park and Myrtle M. (Reed) Whyde.
She died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at her home in Columbus, Ohio while surrounded by her family.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Jeri L. Murray (Calvin) of Columbus, Carey A. Weaver, of Utica, Ohio and Lori A. Karst (Kenneth) of Granville, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Brandon Wilson, Corey Wilson, Isaiah Murray, Hannah Murray, Calvin (Erin) Murray, Jr., Andrew Murray, Jenessa Weaver, Sarah Weaver, Jeremy Karst, and Joshua Karst; nieces, Bonnie McAulliffe and Betty McIntosh; nephews, Billy Whyde and Dale Whyde.
In addition to her parents; she is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar in 1976; one son, Gerald (Jerry) Weaver in 2000; three sisters, Blanche, Clara and Lula; and one brother, Ivan.
Elsie collected glass dogs, enjoyed planting and tending flowers in her yard and was a superb cook. Her gift was hospitality and her generosity and kindness touched many.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to Acclaim Hospice.
