I don't know of an Ashley Stanley, the only Stanley's I have in my tree are from Jewell Ella Stanley married to Samuel Edward Whitener. Her father was John D Stanley and her mother was Lola F. Sorry, I don't have an Ashley.

I, personally, do not know a Ashley Stanley or am I related to any Stanley's on my side of the family. There might have been someone posting on the Widener Message Board that was. Pardon me but, I was curious to know how Ashley Stanley fits into your family tree? You see, my father was the only son of Ashley and Mildred Stanley. Clyde Ervin was born in 1945. We have had little luck trying to find out anything regarding Ashley's mother or his father and so forth. If you could let me know something I would really love to hear from you.

Yes, I have been to the Old Spring Cemetery and that is where my Great-granddaddy & Great-grandmother is buried and several of my Grandaddy's brothers and sisters. You could almost call it the Widener Cemetery. Thanks for the tip though!

For the life of me I can not remember Demix's parents. I remember he had a brother by the name of Millie Boyd who was a policeman in Graniteville for years. Millie is dead, but he has a son by the name of Lester Boyd that still lives in Graniteville. I am sure if you call him he would be glad to give you any information that you might need to help you. He and his wife, Jean, do a lot of historical work in the Graniteville Cemetery.

I am related to most of the Boyds some more than others. My line is from John Patisen and Lavinia Low.They were my great grandparents.We also have Wideners in the family, I am told.But I have not gotten to that yet. Do you know who were Demix's parents/

I am originally from Graniteville, SC and we had the son of Demix Boyd, who was Gerald Boyd live with us for several years. He came to live with us after my brother, Gerald Widener passed away. He really took the place of my deceased brother. Gerald was from Graniteville, SC also. His wife is still living in Clearwater, SC. Would you be related to this family?

Hi, My great grandfather was the brother of Yancy.He was Patisen Boyd.
My cousin and I have been working the Boyd line and having lots of fun.I live in Augusta and she lives in New Ellenton.

John Thaddeus Widener moved from Rockingham County VA. TO Wasington County Va. in 1782, know as Widener's Valley. John married Mary Rouse, daughter of Paulser and Mary Rouse, His second marriage was to Obedience Owen, daughter of Thomas and Hannah Owen they had seven children, Philip, Reuben, Elijah, David ,Andrew, Henry and daughter Mary. John died intestate in 1847.

Marion Johnson Widener from Ga. was married to Mary Ellen Harris from Ark. His birth date was 1855 died 1940, hers was 1867 died in 1938.
This I believe was my great grandfather and grandmother.
My mother was married to Homer Widener and his father was Ben Franklin Widener and they were from Corsicana Tx. My mother and father were divorced in the year after I was born and I never knew any of them. Homer and his father Ben were shot in a poker game in Navarro county in 1961. Homer died at the scene and Ben died the following year.

I have a John Thaddeus Widener who was born 1765 in Virginia, although you have Augusta, I have Rockingham. I'm not sure if one is a town and the other is a county or what.
I show that he was married to Mary Rouse in Washington VA, on May 10 1787.
Finally, another difference is that I have J.T. dead in 1847 in Washington Kentucky.
If you have official documents falsifying any of my information, please lead me to it.

Hi, i am researching Powers family,who were early settlers in Blain twp of Benzie Co,Michigan. I noticed you had the surname of Powers in your listing . I am researching Virginia "Jenny" Widner. She married Samuel Hale Wyatt, they had one child, Robert Hale Wyatt. I have found her in the Dswes Roll as Chotaw. I can't find her after the 1930 census. It has been said she was full blooded Indain. These Wyatt's were from the Saltville, Glade Spring area. Does any of these names mean anything?

James Edwards is my Great Great Grandfathers father. James Edwards married Nancy Widener. They had a son whom is Morris Edwards among several other children but Morris is my Great Great Grandfather.

I am trying to find the parents of Dora Widener. She was born in 1894 in Nebraska, and died 13 Jan 1972. She and her husband, Bert Shuler (Schuler) are buried side-by-side in the Greenwood Cemetery in Alliance, NE. Does anyone know who her parents are?

My mother's name is Ester Widner. The correct spelling is Widner. The Stanley children were in Zavalla Texas. My mother is from Zavalla Texas and was born in 1918 she is the only living sibling from James Henry Widner and Sarah Elizabeth Dykes Widner. They had 11 children. I have talk in the past tothe wife of James Green in the Dallas area about 2001 or so and they were looking for the same people you were speaking of. This person's mother or grandmother was a Stanley. You are correct about the children's names ad I have heard about the person married two Stanley's I think they might have been brothers. However I did not know about the mother being a Widner. But I did know of someone in the Widner family of took care of the children. I know one of the boys grown up and lived in Livingston Texas. I want to mention when my Grandmother Sarah Elizabeth Dykes Widner died in June of 1962, there was a Stanley signed the funeral book. I will look for the information. It has been a long time since I have read my notes. I don't research very much but I do have some information. My mother is still living and I have talked to her about this before.

I thank you for that information. I've had absolutely no where to go to even think about finding information. Perhaps they came from Arkansas. I believe my dad might have said something about his father growing up with family there. But I have not been able to further my search for our family history due to happenings at home.
My father's side of the family always comes up short on leads and it is very discerning to not know where you come from. Thank you again for your help.
I think they might have come from Alabama or another neighboring state. I will try to find what I can. My aunt has not had alot of luck in her research either. Thanks again and look forward to any kind of information anyone can help with.

hey this is chenoa68. i too am a descendant of john thaddeus by way of his i believe second wife mary rouse. my grand dad was from clinch mountain. i have been trying to find information about my great grandparents russell and mary jane widener. particularly mary jane. my uncle and i have had a heck of a time trying to find anything about who her people were. good luck in your search. John Widner married Mary Roberts and they had two children, Florence and Annie. John Widner was a son of Henry W Widner. My great grandmother, Mary Widner Holt, was a sister to your great grandfather John Widner. John and Mary Roberts Widner, divorced in 1913 and in January of 1914, she was given custody of the children. Can give you more info, if you care to write me.

Tina Catherine Widener

I am looking for information on my husband's great grandmother Tina Catherine Widener(Widner). Tina (pronounced Tie-na) was born in July of 1866 in VA (mostly likely Grayson County.) She died on July 27 1938. She married my husband's grandfather Wilson L. Roark and they lived in the Wilson District of Johnson, Co TN. My in-laws had great information on Wilson, but not as much on Tina. The only candidate for her mother is Sarah M Widener (Widner), born in 1845 in VA because she is listed as living in TN with Wilson and Tina as mother-in-law in every census between 1900 and 1920. However, I cannot find a household in either a VA or TN census with Sarah Widener, spouse, and daughter. I am almost ready to conclude that Sarah never married since she lived with her daughter and son-in-law their entire marriage. Also, the 1880 Wilson District, Johnson Co. TN census lists a Sarah and Tina Widener living with W R and Mary Sexton both as nieces. And by the next census, Sarah is living with Wilson and Tina.
