I am looking for information on Christina WIEGEL. She was born in Prussia in February 1829. She came to the United States and married John Jacob GALL and settled in St. Louis. She died in January 1904. I would like any information anyone would have on her ancestors, siblings and descendants. Willing to share any information that I have.

Nicholas Wiegel is my gr gr grandfather. His daughter Elizabeth Wiegel married Gebhardt Sintz. Annabell Sintz married Myron Chauncy Marsh. Rosetta Marsh married Stanley Belford and is my mother. I am descended from Nicholas's first wife, Christiana Onemus (Ohnemus) He had 2 other wives - Justina ? (maybe Schantz) and Elizabeth Kimball. He is buried here in Springfield Ohio. Hello all,

I recently discovered a direct ancestor, whose name was grossly misspelled (I think) in the 1850 census. Maybe she had an accent and the census taker couldn't properly spell the surname, etc.

She appears as: Hannah Waygall b. in about 1769 in Holland. Native tongue: Dutch, both parents born in Holland as well. Immigrated to the U.S., settling in New York where she died sometime between 1850-1860.

Problem is, I really doubt that 'Waygall' was the right spelling. I'm exploring various alternatives in my search for the 'right' one, and I'm wondering if the spelling 'Wiegel' could possibly be Dutch. If so, does anybody happen to have any Hannah Wiegel's in their family files with the approximate birth/data as above? Hannah could possibly be a family name as her daughter was named Hannah also. Unfortunately I don't know her husband's name as she was already widowed in the 1850 census where I discovered her and earlier than that lists only the heads of household with just tick marks for women & children.

Any help would be great!

I just saw the email from Carolyn Gorr/Carol, and went to Ancestry to do a search. I saw this, & responding here. I was just transferred at work, so I am doing double duty, so very busy. Glenda, I know I have had some communication with you before, I hope we can make some connection on families. My family came from Schwed. I do have a Christ Christoff Wiegel in my family. I have info at home. I have very little other than names. No dates before my Grandfather. I'll send what I have tonight. My Grandfather (David Wiegel) came to the US in 1911. His brother Frederik Wiegel also came to the states, I don't know when. I know he was in California and then in the Sheyboygan area. My Grandfather moved from Chicago to Colorado in 1920, then back to Chicago in about 1927. I have ordered a family chart from Pleve. It is due in the fall of this year. My emails are kw77026@aol.com, and Kwiegel@Allstate.com.
I hope this is the start of a new connection to the Wiegel family.

Keith, My brother has been doing rsearch. I have just started. I will check with him and see what he has. Both my Grandmother and Grandfather were from Schwed. I live in Arkansas now but many of my relatives still live near Chicago. (Des Plaines, Cary) I know that my Grandmother, Sophie, had a brother that stayed behind in Schwed. My grandfather was Gottfried Wiegel. He had a twin brother named Gottlieb. He married Sophie Borgardt and they had seven children.

Gottfried Wiegel was my grandfather. He had a twin brother named Gottlieb. I'm not sure about other siblings. My Grandmothers name was Sophie. They married in Shields, N.D. They had seven children. Dorothy, Gottfried, Robert, Esther, Viola, Donald, and Lillian. My mother was Viola. Please contact me at the above address.

Annette, I believe we may have exchanged information before. I am descended from Nicholas II and Martha Roberts. I have not met Don Wiegel. I know Harry, he had a meat stand on Market as did Pete and Ed and several others. My mom worked for them over the years.
I want to go to the Court of Common Pleas when I am in Springfield and look for Nicholas' naturalization papers.

Julie, we were going through my Mom's pictures yesterday and found a picture of a group of young people in a tree, They were in late teens, early twenties. One of the young women is my mother and the other is Betty Wiegel. Ask your mother-in-law is she remembers Elsie Wiegel Heaton, my grandmother. My mother was May Heaton and she married Lloyd Sparrow. Hope your summer is ging well.

They mar. 1602/1605 at LaRochelle. They had one known child, Pierre, who married twice, Jeanne Perrin had 5 children and Marthe Renaudin had 3 children.
