WILBANKS, EUEL WILBURN, age 85, of Minor, Alabama, died on February 9, 2009. Mr. Wilbanks was a charter member of The Open Door Church, Pastor Rick Cooper, and former member of Minor United Methodist Church. He was one of the founders of the Minor Fire Department and a member of the Milton H. Fies Lodge 722. He also served on the USS Rudyerd Bay in WWII and was later Chaplin of The Rudyerd Bay Reunion. He was a player and coach of the Rounders over 40 softball team and also a coach for the Tin Mill softball team. He was assistant leader of Boys Scouts of America, Minor Troop. Funeral Services will be held at Crestview Memorial Funeral Home on February 11, 2009 at 11:00 am with burial in Highland Memorial. He was preceded in death by his sisters; Eunice Hamilton Phillips and Eulala Russell. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Canoles Wilbanks; daughters, Vonnie (Lennie) Sandlin, Debbie (Ron) Slovensky, and Nita Collett; grandchildren; Lisa (Randy) Miller, Jeff (Jennifer) Sandlin, Adam (Jennifer) Slovensky, Andrew Slovensky, Lacey Collett and Abbey Collett; great grandchildren; Brandon and Grant Miller, Harry Slovensky and Bella Ray Sandlin.
