Richard Willbanks

Richard Willbanks was born about 1805, Anderson County, South Carolina. Came to Jackson Co. GA married Dec. 30, 1824 to Nancy Saunders, born about 1808, died Dec. 2, 1891. Richard's father was Henry Willbanks of South Carolina.

Richard came to Chattooga Co. GA in 1846, settled above Trion, where his second son, John was drowned in the river. In 1850 Richard and family moved to Trion GA and lived until his death Jan. 9, 1884.

Brothers of Richard were Abijah, Eliam, Hiram, Gideon, Ephriam, etc. (see Anderson County SC probate records, pg 234, for will of father, Henry Willbanks, dated 24 September 1818, naming his sons).

William married #2 wife, Charity Myers, 23 Sep 1866, died 4 Apr 1916, buried Derden Hill Cemetery, Hill County, TX. William died 18 Jul 1901, buried Derden Hill Cemetery, Hill County, TX. Charity Myers parents were William Myers and Lydia Jackson.
