I have been searching for the father of Volney Thomas Wilbur b Dec 1856 in Ohio. Today I found Volney in the 1870 census with his parents and sibs in Union Township, Sullivan Co., Missouri. I next found Ezra and Susanna in the 1850 Putnam Township, Muskingham Co., Ohio census. At this time the oldest sibling, Charles A was shown b ca 1848 in Ohio. The other children born in Ohio were Arthur, Cora/h J. (possibly middle name Julia), and Volney Thomas Wilbur. Katie Romayne Wilbur was b Texas 1866. So far I have been unable to locate them in the 1860 census but did find them in the 1880 Marion County, Florida census where all family members were present except Ezra who had died. Volney's wife Isabella Eugenia Burleson and daughter Laura Louise Wilbur were also present in the 1880 census with the family.

Does anyone know the maiden name of Ezra's wife Susanna/h? The death date and place of Ezra Wilbur? As you can see the family moved around quite a bit. According to the census' Ezra was a ventriloquist in 1850 and his occupation in 1870 was described as "Shows Magic Views". In 1850 Ezra and family lived among many other Wilbur families all of whose occupations were "potters".
