I am researching the family of George W. Wilbur b. abt 1844 VA and his wife I believe her name was Mry and she was born in England. My grandfather Charles M. Wilbur b 1872 Douglas Nebraska and d. 1963 Santa Cruz California. According to the 1880 census he had several siblings.. Pearl, Elwin, Wiliam T. Samuel, Edith Rosa, George. R. Charles served in the Spanish American War and was stationed at the Precedio in San Francisco during the 1906 earthquake.

Susan Weaver and William Relph/Ralph were married April 3, 1814 at Cranston, Providence, Rhode Island. I'm investigating the possibility that this Susan is the Susan listed as daughter of Capt. John Weaver and Ruth Wilbur in the 1928 Weaver genealogy book. I also need parents of this William Relph/Ralph. Is he the same William Ralph listed in Orange County North Carolina census of 1820,listed as William Ralf? There is a Susan/Susannah Ralph in Lincoln County North Carolina census of 1830, listed as head of household. Is this the same Susan? Rank and organization: Colonel, U.S. Army, Western Task Force, North Africa. Place and date: Fedala, North Africa, 8 November 1942. Entered service at: Palmer, Mass. Birth: Palmer, Mass. G.O. No.: 2, 13 January 1943. Citation: For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action above and beyond the call of duty. Col. Wilbur prepared the plan for making contact with French commanders in Casablanca and obtaining an armistice to prevent unnecessary bloodshed. On 8 November 1942, he landed at Fedala with the leading assault waves where opposition had developed into a firm and continuous defensive line across his route of advance. Commandeering a vehicle, he was driven toward the hostile defenses under incessant fire, finally locating a French officer who accorded him passage through the forward positions. He then proceeded in total darkness through 16 miles of enemy-occupied country intermittently subjected to heavy bursts of fire, and accomplished his mission by delivering his letters to appropriate French officials in Casablanca. Returning toward his command, Col. Wilbur detected a hostile battery firing effectively on our troops. He took charge of a platoon of American tanks and personally led them in an attack and capture of the battery. From the moment of landing until the cessation of hostile resistance, Col. Wilbur's conduct was voluntary and exemplary in its coolness and daring.

I lost Polly Wilbur after the 1850 census. I looked in the ares of Adams MA where I found her on the census. Her maiden name was Brewer. There are no records of her death so it is possible that she moved elseware and may have remarried.

Cynthia Lynn (Wilbur/Smith) Morron, 44, of Bloomington, formerly of Ellettsville, passed away Sunday, March 5, at her residence, after her five-year battle with cancer.

Born February 19, 1962, in Bloomington, she is the daughter of Jim and the late Sarah "Sally" Wilbur.

She was a former assistant teacher at Ellettsville Elementary School and worked at Cook Inc. before becoming ill.

With her courage to live, she was an inspiration to many as well as her own family. Even during her long illness, she always knew how to make you smile with her funny gestures and positive ways.

She left behind her husband, Randy Morron of Bloomington; three daughters, Sharla and Jenny Smith and Lacie Morron, all of Bloomington; a granddaughter, Taylor Hickman of Bloomington; her father and his friend, Lois Durnal; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Lisa Wilbur of Ellettsville; mamo and papo, Ward and Mary Inman of Bloomington; one nephew, Josh Wilbur of Bloomington; two nieces, Lindsey and Katey Wilbur of Ellettsville; father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Carolyn Sue Morron of Columbus; four brother and sisters-in-laws, Jeff and Julie Morron of Bloomington, Tracy and Kim Morron and Brad and Brenda Morron, all of Bedford, and Kim and Daniel Wagner of Columbus; her best friend, Gerrie Carroll of Bloomington; several aunts and uncles; and several cousins.

I am seeking more info on this family from Crawford Co ILL. Alexander Wilber and Rhoda Cain were married on 8/11/1848 in Crawford Co. ILL. In the 1860 Crawford Co census, He is listed as 60 years old and born NY. Rhoda is 50 years old and born Virginia. Also in the house is Louisa Wilber age 8 born Indiana. I can't seem to find any more about them.

My ancestor Maria (Mary) Macy was born 4 July 1794 on Nantucket, MA and married John Wilbur (also spelled Wilber, Wilbor, etc.) 17 July 1817. The Vital Records of Nantucket say that she died August, 1832 in New York but they say nothing more than that (giving no idea of where she died in New York or of the specific date). I find her in the 1820 Census for Nantucket, MA. but have not been able to find her after that. I have not found an appropriate Maria (or Mary) Wilbur in the 1830 MA census.

The only possible woman I have found in the 1830 New York census is a Widow Wilbur in Knox Township, Albany County, NY. She is shown with a male child of the appropriate age to be her son William Macy Wilbur as well as another female age 30-40 and a female over 70 years old. She is living near a John Wilbur and his family. I have no idea whether this Widow Wilbur could be my Maria (Mary). Does anyone know anything about this Wilbur family? Any suggestions as to how I might find out more about this Widow Wilbur? How I might find her death record?

I have been told that my ancestor, Roland Taylor Wilbur (also spelled Wilber, Wilbor, etc.) was born 18 Feb 1844 in Boston, MA. However, I have not been able to find any source for this information. His parents were William Macy Wilbur and Phebe Thacher Taylor. I wrote to the Massachusetts State Achives, but they were not able to find a birth certificate. Does anyone have any information about this family or suggestions for how I might locate record of his birth or baptism record? Thanks for you help!

My ancestor, William Macy Wilber (also spelled Wilbur, Wilbor, etc.) died in Redding, Shasta County, CA on 3 Jan 1892. He supposedly was in the County Hospital of Redding, CA when he died and was buried in their burying ground on 4 Jan 1892. I already have his death certificate, but would like to locate this burial ground and find out if there was a tombstone or any record of his burial.

I have an original carte de visite photo of Alice F. Wilbur, which I would like to get back to family members. Photo was taken in 1877 in Bridgewater (Plymouth Co.) MA and shows Alice at about age 20.

I found Alice F. Wilbur as age 13 in the 1870 census of Mendon (Worcester Co.) MA, daughter of Louise & George. By 1880 census, she is listed as Alice F. Wilbur, age 22, living in Mattapoisett (Plymouth Co.) MA, as a teacher in home of Charles & Mary Barskow.

Mr. Robert B. Wilbur, 56, died unexpectedly, at his home, 561 Rear East 6th Street, South Boston. He was born in Avoca, Pennsylvania March 31, 1920, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Mary Buckley) Wilbur. He was a retired master sergeant with 22 years of service and served with the Army in World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of various veterans organizations including VFW, American Legion Post, South Boston, and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Wilbur had been employed fo rthe Boston Army Base prior to being building superintendent for the state of Massachusetts in Boston for the past 5 years.

I am trying to find the parents of Ruby Wilbur, who was married by intention filed in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, 12 Oct 1844 to James Lester Wilcox.

Ruby had a sister, Lydia Ann, who filed an intention for marriage on the same day in Sturbridge for marriage to Joseph F. Wilcox.

Census records tell me that Ruby was born in Connecticut about 1823, but her father was born in Massachusetts.

William Walter Wilber b. Oct. 3 1886 Providence Co. Pawtucket, Rhode Island m. Jan. 10 1909 Norfolk Co. Medway, Massaschusetts to Hilda Rosell. d. September 30, 1922.

I know that Lawrence Benjamin Wilbur had also a daughter named Jennie or Jeannie who married a Nostrom or Norstrom but we have no other information on her.

Lawrence Benjamin Wilbur was also apart of a Swedish church I think it was in Massachusetts. My father has been in touch with the pastor and there are lots of records there but they are in Swedish (many of them) and no one to look through them, my dad lives on the west coast and can't get to Mass. to look through the records.

We have also found Lawrence Benjamin Wilbur listed in the 1920 and 1930 census and William W. Wilber listed in the 1920 census.

We have all information on William W. Wilber's wife and children.

Many of these births are listed at familysearch.org as being in Phillips (or Madrid), Maine, but for Thomas and Deborough that may just be where the LDS found the records. Perhaps there is a connection to the Wilbur's of Rhode Island, but I can't find it.

This was my gr grandfather. I think he was born in Iowa. I have no dates but his wife, Rosa Reyes, was b. 16 March 1854 and d. 28 May 1941, both in Savannah. However, their child, my gr mother, Florence Rosa Wilbur, was b. 15 April 1891 in Sioux City, Iowa. In the census of 1900 she was in an orphanage in Savannah.Rosa was listed in 1900 census as a boarder so I think Fred d. between 1891 and 1900, most probably in Sioux City, Iowa.

I have not found him in census searches. Any help would be appreciated.

Hazel was a Native American woman and from the Menominee Tribe in Wisconsin. She had a child named Marlyn Ashley Hickok, born 5/2/1910 in Neopit, WI. He died in June 1986 in Waukesha, WI. Because he was born on the Menominee Indian Reservation, a "state" birth certificate was recorded by Marlyn himself later in Shawano County in 1953. The Father was: Chauncey Alanson Hickok.
Marlyn later married Mary Alice McLaughlin in Chase, WI on 10/17/1936. Here are their children:
Alice Marie Hickok Yuma, AZ.
One son, Keith (Hickok) and daughter inlaw, Karen, Waukesha, WI.
8 Grandchildren:
**Lisa, Karla, Greg, Lori, and Keith Kobriger.

The obit is sketchy because it lists his wife's name as Marie. (Not Mary or Mary Alice. (??)), which preceeded him in death. Others that proceeded Marlyn was; one daughter..Phylis Kobriger, his parents (not listed), one brother...Glenn Birr and one sister...Mrs. Margaret Gillis.

If anyone knows anythign about any of these people listed. Marlyn is my Uncle. Marlyn has a half sister, Jean and 2 half brothers, Charles Hickok and James Allen (deceased).
His father, Chauncey Hickok is my biological grandfather. (Looking for more information on Chauncey if possible)
