WOLFE CITY — J.B. “Jim” Wilburn, 101, of Mesquite died May 26 2008, in Heritage Nursing Center in Mesquite following a lengthy illness. A graveside service is scheduled at 1 p.m. today at Mount Carmel Cemetery iunder the direction of R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City. Dr. Kevin Mitchell is officiant.
The son of Patrick W. and Samantha Mae Hobbs Wilburn, he was born Dec. 10, 1906, in Indian Territory, Okla. He married Janie Valerree Burkett.
Mr. Wilburn was a machinist who worked with oil well equipment. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Urbandale.
Surviving are four daughters, Emma Bourquin of Dallas, Patsy Marsh of Troope, Valla Ridge of McKinney and Mary Ann Killingsworth of Quinlan; two sons, James Wilburn of Mesquite and Tommy Wilburn of Dallas; and 16 grandchildren.
