I have put together some information on my Wilcox line please feel free to help me correct anything that is inaccurate or to source the information. Thank you!

Benjamin Wilcox was born 1799 in Adair County, KY. He died sometime
after 1850. Benjamin’s parents are unknown at this time.

Benjamin married Nancy Hughes Patterson on March 16, 1823 in Adair
County, KY. Nancy was the daughter of John Patterson and Polly
Hughes. She was born between 1803-1810. She died between 1828-1830 in
Adair County, KY.

Benjamin and Nancy had two children:
Noah Wilcox born 1825 in Adair County, KY m. Elizabeth M. Walker died
after 1870.
George Whitt Wilcox, Sr. born 1828 in Adair County, KY m. Susan Elizabeth “Nancy” Hughes died after 1850.

In 1830 Benjamin was living in Adair County, KY raising his two young
sons, both were under five years old and had lost their mother. In 1840
he had remarried and was still living in Adair County, KY. There is a
marriage record for Benjamin Wilcox and Greacy (Gracey) Jones, married
on October 13, 1835 in Adair County, KY. In 1850 he is married to Mary
they have three young daughters. The family is still living in Adair County, KY. There is a marriage record for Benjamin Wilcox and Mary
Ann Sparks, married in Adair County, KY on November 7, 1843.

Benjamin and Mary had three children:
Mary Wilcox born 1845 in Adair County, KY.
Susan J. Wilcox born 1847 in Adair County, KY.
Elizabeth Wilcox born 1849 in Adair County, KY.

After Benjamin’s death the family may not have been able to stay
together, children with the same names and of the same ages are found living in Cumberland, KY in different households. Benjamin and Mary possibly had a son named James Wilcox born 1850 as he is found living with Elizabeth in the Young Household. Susan is in the Lough/Humes and or Baker households. Mary is in Fayette, KY with her mother who
is listed as Margaret.

George “Whitt” Wilcox was born about 1828 in Adair County, KY. He died
between 1867-1870 in Adair County, KY.

George Whitt Wilcox was the son of Benjamin Wilcox and Nancy Hughes Patterson.

George Whitt married Susan Elizabeth “Nancy” Hughes. Susan Elizabeth
was the daughter of Turner Hughes and Nancy Redman. She was born
about 1833 in Adair County, KY. She died after 1900 in Keltner, Adair County, KY.

In 1850 George and Elizabeth were living in Adair County, KY. George
was a farmer. On July 6, 1859 or June 7, 1859 a survey was completed
for 148 acres on Big Creek Watercourse, Adair County, KY for grantee George W. Wilcox. In 1870 Susan E. is living in Gradyville, Adair
County, KY just two doors down from her son George. She has seven children still living at home. In 1880 her name is listed as Nancy Wilcoxson, she is living in the household of her son George with four
of her children, as is her father Turner Hughes and his grandson John
D. Harvey. In 1900 Elizabeth is living in Keltner, Adair County, KY.
Her granddaughter Fannie is living with her, she is listed as her
daughter.

George Whitt and Susan Elizabeth had nine children:
George Whitt Wilcox born December 1850 in Adair County, KY m1. Ellen
V. Keltner m2. Mattie E. Wilson died between 1915-1920 in Clay, Pike
County, IN.
Nancy J. Wilcox born September 4, 1852 in Adair County, KY.
Clara A. Wilcox born April 21, 1854 in Big Creek, Adair County, KY.
Patsy S. Wilcox born 1856 in Adair County, KY.
Elizabeth Wilcox born 1860 in Adair County, KY.
William B. Wilcox born 1862 in Adair County, KY.
Laura Bell Wilcox born 1863 in Adair County, KY m. ? Grady died July 14, 1931 in Gradyville, Adair County, KY.
Matthew B. Wilcox born 1865 in Adair County, KY.
Josephine Wilcox born 1868 in Adair County, KY.

George Whitt Wilcox was born December 1850 in Adair County, KY. He died between
1915-1920 in Clay, Pike County, IN. He was the son of George Whitt Wilcox, Sr and
Susan Elizabeth “Nancy” Hughes.

George was first married to Ellen V. Keltner on December 22, 1869 in Adair County,
KY. Ellen was the daughter of John Richard Keltner and Mary “Polly” Coffey. She
was born about 1845 in Adair County, KY. She died between 1886-1900.

In 1870 George and Ellen were living in Gradyville, Adair County, KY. George was farming and Ellen was keeping house. In 1880 they were living in Leatherwood,
Adair County, KY. Their name is listed as Wilcoxson. George is working as a farm laborer. Also living in the household is George’s mother listed as Nancy Wilcoxson
with four of her children, Turner Hughes, (Nancy’s father, George’s maternal
grandfather) and his grandson John D. Harvey.

George and Ellen had five children:
Fannie Bell Wilcox born May 7, 1872 in Gradyville, Adair County, KY m. Garfield
Coomer died of arterial selerotic heart disease June 9, 1947 in Gradyville, Adair
County, KY buried at Morris Chapel Columbia, KY.
Callie Danie Wilcox born February 15, 1875 in Gradyville, Adair County, KY never
married died of a cerebral hemorrhage February 6, 1952 in Glasgow, Barren County,
KY buried at Glasgow Cemetery FAVE 25 900810.
Edna “Edney” Wilcox born April 1878 in Adair County, KY m. Henry Clay Moore April
16, 1896 died February 18, 1963 in Adair County, KY.
John Hazel “Azel” Wilcox born March 15, 1885 in Adair County, KY m. Luevady Wilson
died July 28, 1975 in Glasgow, Barren County, KY buried at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery SW A 12 900622.
Abram Wilcox born March 1886 in Adair County, KY.

After Ellen’s death George married Mattie E. Wilson. It is unknown at this time
who her parents were. She was born January 1880 in KY. She died in 1929. She
is buried at Little Zion Cemetery, Clay Township, Pike County, IN.

In 1900 George and Mattie had just married, George was farming and the family was living in Keltner, Adair County, KY. By 1910 the family was living in Center, Gibson County, IN where George was working as a farm laborer. Also living with the family was Noah Wilcox, George’s nephew, his brother William’s son.

George and Mattie had four children:
William Hulse Wilcox born 1902 in Keltner, Adair County, KY m. Marie ?
George Walter Wilcox born May 25, 1905 in Center, Gibson County, IN m. Freda
Rumble December 7, 1926 died of coronary occlusion heart disease February 16, 1952
in Keltner, Adair County, KY buried at Moss Cemetery in Adair County, KY.
Anna “Annie” Mae Wilcox born June 26, 1907 in Center, Gibson County, IN m.
? Lineberger died December 26, 1989 in Los Angeles, CA.
Anscler F. Wilcox born November 1916 in Clay, Pike County, IN.
