Davis Wilder was born 6 Jun 1880, to Ezbon Warren & Katherine (Davis) Wilder, b. 1852, Sun Prarie, WI & 1854, Sun Prarie, respectively. E.W. & family moved to farm near Austin, MN, 1879. Katherine died at Austin, MN, 14 Nov 1911. Ezbon W. moved to Long Beach, CA, Oct 1919, and died there 28 Jan 1923. Children: Ruth, Davis E., Nellie (Mrs. John Armstead), Sioux Rapids, IA; Frost, Fairview, MT; Katherine (Mrs. Custer Armstead), Medelia, MN.
Davis attended schools in Mower County, MN, and graduated from Univ. of Minnesota Agricultural Dept, 1904. He spent two years learning the undertaking businesss in Austin, MN, and in 1906 located to Sydney, MT and spent two months working in the mercantile business, then became a ticket agent for the Great Northern Railway in Williston, ND. In 1910, he was transferred to Great Falls, MT, as ticket clerk, and in 1911 to Helena, MT, and 1913 to Butte, MT, as passenger agent.
On 14 Nov 1914, Butte, MT, Davis married Mrs. Jane (Williams) Lynch, daughter of Daniel and Ann Williams of Butte.
