Louis, youngest son of Karl and Katherine Wilhelmi, was 19 yrs old when he, his parents and brother Ralph immigrated to the U.S. in 1911.
Louis James and Stella Patricia Shelley were married Oct 21, 1920 at St Alphonsus. Stella, daughter of William and Louise Paquette Shelley, was born March 24, 1901 at Darwin, MN. When she was 3 weeks old, she and her mother went to the farm which her father had homesteaded. They farmed in the North Loma area where they raised a family of seven sons and nine daughters.
Their children are: Lucille Waltz, Edward, Ione Banasik, and Betty Bata, all of Langdon; Jeanne Hoiland of Broomfield, CO; Charlotte Haggerty of Lakewood, CA; Louis Jr of Anoka, MN; Alvin of San Jose, CA; Wallace of Anaheim, CA; Kenneth of Colwich, KS; Arlene Leisen of St. Cloud, MN; Sharon Wick of Grand Forks; Gerald of Badger, MN.
Their eldest son, Danield died in 1950 and a daughter, Colleen Loff, died March 27, 1978, both in a car accident.
Kathleen died in 1926 fra whooping cough when she was two. Thirteen graduated fra St Alphonsus. Louis was born March 26, 1895 in Austria. When he was three they moved to Romania. He lived in the Loma area fra 1911 until his death July 8, 1964. Stella lives on the farm with her sn Edward.---recorded 6/85
