Wilkinson from Ohio who started this line, but i cannot seem to go pass this, if there is a way you could see what you can find - it seem to pick at the information.
what information i do have is that Aaron was born in 1822 in Ohio.
thanks again hope to hear back.
catherine wilkinson

Wilkinson researcher,
Our only connection with the Wilkinson family is that Ruth Ann Carpenter Jackson, married Vincent Wilkinson, in Belmont Co., Ohio on November 26, 1857. Ruth had been married prior to William T. Jackson and with William had seven children. I do not know if Vincent and Ruth had children. Ruth died Feb. 4, 1900 in Belmont Co., Ohio.
I do not have any other info about Vincent.
Good luck in your search.

We were at the Mack cemetery 4 years ago and found one of the headstones made from the dresser top had broken in two. I tried to get someone out there to make repairs, but couldn't find anyone interested. Half of the stone was still on the grave and the other half was leaning against the fence. I don't know if EJ got anyone out there or not. I thought it should be repaired before something happened to it. You can email me at Kernco78@hotmail.com & I will send Val's email address to you.

My best to you,
Jan

May I make a correction to my original response. Even though the obit of Francis A. Wilkinson states that his father Francis was a minister, I do not believe that to be true. Francis A. died in Catlin, IL and a family member or his second wife would have provided the information. In England, the family lived in the Kimberley area of Nottinghamshire and also in Nottingham. One child was born in Ilkeston.

Wilkinson, Tipton, Staffordshire.
Hi my G. Grandparents were James Wilkinson (born abt 1850, died 29th March 1924 at 39 Union St) and Hannah Ruberry (various spellings for his wife, this is from the marriage certificate).

The problem is that in Tipton in abt 1850 three James Wilkinson's were born, one of them went on to marry Hannah Ruberry (Ann Rubbury etc) on 10th April 1871 at Sedgley Parish Church.

On the Marriage Certificate from 1871 it names the father of James as James Wilkinson, Miner.

James was 20 at the time of his marriage on 10th April 1871

On the census sheets after their marriage in 1871 it says James was born in Tipton.

I have purchased all three of the birth certificates for James Wilkinson from around 1850 but non of the fathers names are James so I am a bit stuck.

The fathers names are George, John and Samuel, no James ?

On the marriage cert it says they were both living in Sedgley at the time of the marriage, but I think that may have been a temp thing or not true.

I am not aware of any news papers that may have reported the marriage in 1871

I have found Ann Rubbury age 20 living with her Grandmother in Wood Street Tipton in the 1871 Census.

I have not been able to find James Wilkinson with a father named James in 1871.

George Roberts who may be the witness at the wedding, is living next door to them in 1881, I don't have him in 1871 but they may have been working at the same pit as they are both coal miners.

I have not found any identifiable relatives living close to them that may provide an alternative link.

My Grandfather George had a brother named Thomas and he was married to Annie living at 71 Union Street Tipton. She was seriously injured in the Zeppelin Raid and died of her injuries 29 hrs later on 2nd Feb 1916, the Coroner for Dudley R. Marshall held an inquest on 3rd Feb, which all of the family may have attended but I have not been able to locate that, but I have a press report from the Birmingham Mail and I have read the first hand report printed in the B.C.Bugle.

Any help with James Wilkinson and more information on the Tipton Zeppelin Raid will be much appreciated.

Regards
Dave

I also am researching Wilkinson's. My line is in the Medway area of Kent, not far from London. I have gone back to Archibald William Wilkinson married to Ann who would have been born around 1760. I've hit a wall and I cant find where Archibald William is from. I know there are some Wilkinson families from Woolwich but I haven't had opportunity to search the records for that area. Have you come across that name by chance???

Wilkinson and Snodgrass in Co. Monaghan

Hi, I am looking for any information concerning James Wilkinson who married Jane Snodgrass before about 1830 -- possibly in Co. Monoghan, Ireland, as their son John Wilkinson was born there ca 1831. This son John died in Teregles, Scotland 11.1.1894. John married Elizabeth Baird in Stoneykirk, Wigtownshire, Scotland, and I have traced ancesters on the Scottish Baird side plus descendants down to my own family. Any help with Wilkinson or Snodgrass in or near Co. Monoghan would be greatly appreciated! -- John Cornell

Have noted that there seem to be several bunches of Wilkinsons in different parts of the country operating as jewellers/goldsmiths and silversmiths: - John Wilkinson in Nantwich (in 1880's-1920's), John Wilkinson in Briggate, Leeds (1826 trade directory and 1841 census), Bertie Cecil Wilkinson in Stowmarket/Ipswich (c1900-1930)and finally Millar Wilkinson in London (later 19th century). Coincidence, or are some or all of these connected? Would love to hear from anyone who has researched Wilkinsons in any of these areas, particularly Cheshire & Ipswich.

my husbands great grandmother was mary ellen wilkinson daughter of francis dont know wher she came from .she states on the cencus records she came from st helens lancashire but there is no proof of this .she re married in 1865 to patrick dyer on the cert. she states she was widow her name given as smith and she had 2 sons george and john . john being my husbands grandad .there are no records of her 1st marriage or her 2 sons births or 1st husbands death .could this be your wilkinson family . thanks ive got my fingers crossed .i think she was born about 1840 .
