"I am looking for any info on the following people; Robert Estelle Williamson dob unknown but I do know that he married Ethel Jane Jackson on May 22,1903 in Jefferson Co. TX. They had 3 children. Natalie Estelle(bFebruary 28,1907, Suggsville AL), Carmen Allen(dob unknown) and Robert Estelle Jr.(dob unknown).Robert and Ethel are my maternal Great Grandparents and this is all I have to
go on. Any input will be greatly appreciated."
She emailed it to me right away. You and I are related, Tracy, for sure and I am holding my breath HOPING this posting gets to you!!
Aunt Ethel helped to raise my father. Aunt Ethel's brother was my grandfather. He is Add Moses Jackson. He later on changed his name to Ed Jackson. Grandpa was married to Emmer Loftin. Then, he became involved with another woman... I have been given a name but have YET to find anything supporting it. Suffice to say, I do not know who my grandmother is. My dear father passed away 3 years ago. Because dad was from 'another woman', Grandpa's family was not really receptive to this little boy from another woman. It was Aunt Ethel who helped to raise Dad, along with his grandmother, Harriet (Wood) Jackson. William K. Jackson and Harriett Amelia (Wood) Jackson are my gr grandparents. I have pictures of me as a baby sitting in Aunt Ethel's lap.
I have been researching our family for almost 6 years and you (Tracy) are the very FIRST one that I have located that has said anything about Aunt Ethel's family.
My mother has helped me incredibly with the family because she has a sharp mind and REMEMBERS a lot that the older ones told her. She said that Uncle Estelle changed his name from Williams to Williamson, or the other way around, I am not sure, but will ask her when I call her on Saturday. I will ask her again if she remembers why Uncle Estelle changed his name.
Mom said that she thought Aunt Ethel died in Lovelady, TX. If you get this email, please email me. You and I are close cousins!! I have found quite a bit about our Jacksons and they are my ongoing quest to find out what I can. Since you show that Natalie was born in AL, can you tell me anything about the Jackson's? Why was Natalie born n Alabama when they lived in Texas/ Were they visiting the Jackson's and if so, WHOM??? Do you know anything about Harriett and William K. Jackson? Do you know WHO would have the family Bible? I have had a hard time locating info about them.
I will be more than thrilled to share with you what I have. Right now, my files are not on my computer as I am doing a test and the filters will be turned back on tomorrow. I will be reinstalling my genealogy files on about the 21st of this month, so then, I will be able to send you some reports and data on this family. Meanwhile, I hope we can stay in touch. If you email me, I will also take your email addy and send it to my cousin, Berty. She is Uncle Onnie's daughter. She and I are half first cousins. She and her sister Gladys are trying to plan a family reunion for this summer. I went to it 2 years ago and learned a lot - it was great!!
Let's see, from memory, here is what might help you:
William Jackson. b. 1798 Georgia, m. to Mary (?) b. Ga
Cleton Jackson, b. 1832 Alabama, died, in probably TX
Emeline Frances Jackson, b. in AL, and married to Joseph
Addison Barber. They both died in TX
Catharine Jackson, b. AL
Martha Jackson, b. AL
Ann Jackson, b. AL
William Jackson, b. AL
Cleton Jackson, b. 1832- 1833 AL. married Sarah Ann Keith in AL.
They had one son, that we know of, William K. Jackson. This is a real mystery. Sarah must have died, because in the 1860 Chamber's County TX Census, William is living with his Aunt Emeline.) In 1860, Cleton remarried to Sarah Martha Morgan.
William K. Jackson married Harriett Amelia Wood in May, 1878, in Jasper County, Texas. ( I have a copy of the marriage record.)
They had the following children: (Without my records in front of me, they are not in chronological order.)
Ethel Jackson. (You said Ethel Jane? I never knew that and am so glad to have that info!)
Maude Ella Jackson
Gladys Jackson
Sally (maybe Sarah as Sally is a nickname for Sarah) Vera Jackson
Thomas Jackson
Add Moses Jackson
I do not remember all of Grandpa's kids at the moment, but Onnie was one of them. They were all from Emmer Loftin, except for my father, Leon Jackson, Sr.
Tracy, I hope you get this email/posting. I know it is an old one that I am responding to. I just wish I would have seen your posting a long time ago....I have looked for so long for our Jackson relatives!!! Let me know how you connect to Aunt Ethel.
Email me so we can talk!!
Your new Cousin,
Linda (Jackson) Kyle <
