I am not sure if this will help, but my father's name is George Willy born 1924 in London. His father's name was Giles Willy. I do have cousins who moved to New Zealand in the 1960s. I have only just started looking at my family tree, but if I turn up anything I will let you know. Willy is a very unusual name in England.

I recently acquired a copy of an 1876 letter my ancestor Lovick Pierce wrote to an old friend. In it, he mentions a sister-in-law, Julia Foster who apparently married a Willy.

Julia's parents were George Wells Foster and Julia Elizabeth Flournoy. She had a brother, Thomas Flournoy Foster and sisters Celestia, Ann, and Antoinette.

I thought I would post the excerpt from the letter here. Perhaps it will provide a clue to one of Julia's descendants who may be looking for her.

"Dr. Foster's children are all there except Julia Willy -- they are in Nashville. Celestia and Antoinette, the oldest and youngest daughters remain single and occupy the old homestead. Thomas F. Foster, the only son, has returned from Louisiana and is farming the old farm."

I descend from Julia's sister Ann Martin Foster who married Dr. Lovick Pierce, a Methodist minister.

My Grandfather was Stanley EDWARDS b.early 1900's d.1972 he married Alice Catherine WILLY d.1977. They had 1 son, Roger b. 1937, and lived for many years in London. Then moved to Deal in Kent. Stanley had 2 siblings, Mabel and Alfred. Alfred married twice - Laura, then Ruth. I'd like to know more about the ancestors on both sides if anyone has information.
My Grandmother Alice WILLY had several siblings-

Received with my own family research results (from the London Metropolitan Archives) is a marriage register for James Willy (bachelor) and Mary Ann Foot (spinster). James and Mary Ann were married by banns on July 29, 1827 at St. George of the the Martyr.
Other witnesses include Thomas Moore & Elizabeth (?)

This is not my family, but if it would help a fellow researcher, I would be happy to forward a jpeg of the document.
