Am looking for info on Mary Dunn who md. Rev. Simon Wilmer, son of Lambert Wilmer and Ann Elizabeth Lovely. Rev. Simon Wilmer married first "the lovely Ann Ringgold." Any info on Mary Dunn's parents, etc. would be appreciated.

I have a found many generations of our family.
William Wilmer commited suicide though I am at present trying to locate a coroners report..or newspaper articles.
The Whitehead family came from a small village Bredgar in Kent. I am descended from Hannah's son Walter Wilmer George Whitehead.

I am descended from Hannah Maria Wilmer and William Whitehead. Details held as follows:
William Wilmer died 23/2/1856 Aged 27 Lewisham.Charlotte Maria (Chambers)Wilmer remarried 27/1/1861 to Thomas Young Pensioner Medway. Charlotte's father on marriage certificate shown as William Chambers soldier. Thomas's father same christian name as son and shown as carpenter. Thomas died 12/1880 Medway. Charlotte died 12/1881 Eastry.
Charlotte and William appear to have had 3 children William b 9/51 Greenwich, Ann Maria b 3/1853 Lewisham and Hannah Maria 25/1/1856 Lewisham. However, I only hold a birth certificate for Hannah Maria. I do hold further information regarding the Wilmer's and Whitehead's and would be happy to supply details.

William Wilmer is a new son that I did not know about !!!
Charlotte Maria Chambers came from Alverstoke in Hampshire her father was a ropemaker at the time of her marriage...But believe there is a Naval connection there.

William Wilmer her husband died 1856 suicide by drowning...we are still trying hard to find the records of this.

Hannah (anna, annie) Maria whom I am decended from was born 25th Jan 1856. She married Walter William Whitehead in 1880

I've just picked up my husband's tree again after a few months and found your message. Charlotte Maria Chambers was my husbands 3x great grandmother by her marriage to William Wilmer/Wilmore. She did marry Thomas Young in 1861 in Medway (see free bmd)but I think he died pretty soon - she is a needlewoman living in Battersea in 1881. My husband Anthony Wilmer Woods is descended through Charlotte's son William. I have her birth as Somerset Island Bermuda in 1831. Do you have any more information especially re her parents?

I do see the name Cox was kept in the surname of Margaret's mom, Angeline C., after she married William Moyer. She in turn kept it in her daughter's name, Margaret Cox Moyer. She in turn kept it in her name after marrying William E. Moyer. Good luck in your research.

Thanks for your post. I do know that Cox had a sibling, not sure if it was a sister or brother at this point. He had a neice living with him in 1880. That's the only record I could find for him. I'm still searching though. If I find a link between him and William I will let you know.

I have a Margaret Cox Moyer in my tree. Her dates are b. 1863 and died 1944. She married William E. Wilmer b. 1837 and died 1894. I do not know if they are related. I do not know of anyone who went to North Carolina, but thought I'd write.

My great-great grandfather was Arthur Wilmer Sr. born in Charlotte , NC but then moved to Yonkers , NY. His father was Cox Wilmer born in North Carolina. I'm looking for any information on Cox Wilmer. The last record I found of him was on the 1880 Census. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I've placed a page on my family tree website, "Sauerbraten, Tea Time & Scones" for those who may live too far away to take photos themselves. I've had others do the same favor for me.

I have a Charles Willmer in my family history .. born 1846 England.
He had 4 children from his 1st marriage, one of them being Charles Archibald born 1876 England. He apparently had a 2nd marriage .. # of children in this relationship i don't know.

I have an Araminta Ann Stokes (?) that md William Talbert Worsham on Mar 29, 1838 in Callaway Co., MO. William Talbert was a state witness in the Aug 1864 Lawrence Co., MO indictment MO vs Armenius Dobyns. Is this the same woman perhaps? Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

If you have any further information on the connection between the Wilmer and Cannell family connections in eary Maryland, please let me know. My information includes Humberston Skipwith Cannell Sr. and Jr., Simon Wilmer Cannell and Isaac Cannell Jr. , their spouses and children, but gets lost before that.

The Wilmer-Cannell connection has been established by a cousin, but neither she nor I find an earlier reference to the Cannell name before Jerome Cannell who married Elizabeth Wa?? in Shrewsbury Parish, MD circa 1733/34. He was involved in a legal matter with an Abraham Cannell, but more outline of the family is not available. Do you have information on his wife's surname, etc.?

According to Jane's mothers obit in Aug 1979, Jane was married an Unknown Wilmer. According to Jane's fathers obit in Aug 1996, Jane was married to an Unknown Mills.

There is a birth of a Frederick James B Willmer in Brighton, East Sussex in 1885 Jan-Mar quarter, Volume 2b page 215.
There is also a marriage in Jan - Mar 1912 of a Frederick James B Willmer in Pontypool, Monmouthshire 11a 231 the bride coukd be a Beatrice Laura Beach or a Catharine George.

The 1901 census shows a Frederick Willmer born Brighton the son of George and Jane both aged 40 Frederick was a Tobacanists assistant living Fulham in London.

If you believe that this is your Fred I will send you the census images on your say so

I am searching for the children of Alexander Brown Wilmer b. Aug 1853 in VA d. 26 May 1931 in Mobile AL m. 21 July 1877 Edith Newbold Gordon b. ca 1858 Mobile AL d. 16 Jan 1927 Mobile. I have information on both their parents but nothing on their children. I was told recently that Edith was a charter member of the Virginia Cavaliers chapter of the DAR in Mobile which would love to learn how her family fits in to the Revolution. She was my great aunt. I know this is an old posting of yours, but I have just begun my Wilmer search and I do have some from the Shrewsbury Parish records of Kent and St. Paul's Parish. I actually started with Wilmer's buried in Mobile AL, Rev. Richard Hooker Wilmer and his family, and took it to Maryland, which is not very far. I would appreciate anything you could provide me.

I know this is an old posting, but I would love to receive copies of these tombstones in the St. Paul's Parish Cemetery. I also know that there are more Wilmer's buried in the Shrewsbury Parish. I have a few photos of Wilmer's tombstones in Mobile AL. My gggrandfather, Dr. Frederick Elliot Gordon had a daughter Edith Newbold Gordon that married Alexander Brown Wilmer, son of Rev. Richard Hooker Wilmer and Marion Hannah Cox. They are also buried in the Magnolia cemetery in Mobile. I took some photos this summer while in Mobile. Some did not come out as well as would have liked, but it was raining very hard that day as well as thunder and lightning. I live in NY but I am planning another trip to Mobile so I can take more photos. I would be happy to share with you.
