I have information on the Winemans in Belmont County that I'd like to share with you. My line goes to George Wineman, son of Christian. I have been trying to prove Christian is the son of Peter Vaneman (Wineman) of Pendleton County WV.

I have some information on Christian. I have him as passed away in the year 1847 in the month of March. He had 14 chldren, but I don't think they all were with Areatha Arnolds (aka Airey). I am not sure who his first wife was, or what happened to her?

I have her born abt. 1795 in Maryland. She passed sometime aft. July, 1850 in Belmont County....

I too have a copy of his will.

Some of his children moved to Illinois, and some stayed in Belmont county... We are Winemans still in the area of Belmont county.

I would love to share what I have on the Winemans. I would be grateful if you would help me out as well..

Thank so much!

Hi Angela

yes I can help you! I am the great grand daughter of Frederick Mount Wineman. He had another son, Frederick, (who doesn't appear in your geneaology), he was my grand father on my mother's side.
My mum has always wondered what happened to her aunt Sally. Apparently my grandfather lost touch with her after she emigrated to the States.

We have a hand written diary FM Wineman wrote whilst sailing to England. Also my mum has a letter which was sent to my great aunt Laura in the early 1900's asking her to complete a family tree. It came to light when my grandfather died. It's on headed paper of an iron Foundry In Allegheny (Porter Comp. I think)

FM Wineman settled in Sheffield and was a professional athlete and sports journalist.

My mum will be most interested to learn that Aunt Sally had a family can you tell us more?
I see you last posted in 2003, so hope you're still checking the site.Hope to hear from you.

Rosemary

I am researching the family of John Clinton Wineman born 1885 in Benton County, Indiana, died 1967 in Indianapolis. He married Ora Mae Evans. Six children -- at least 3 of them deceased, the rest possibly still living. One was named "Paul Edward."

I have found him in the 1930 census, Youngwood Twp at age 21. He was living with his father, William Wineman age 53, listed as a butcher. Mother, Ethel, age 52 and sister Alice, age 23. Do any of these names sound familiar?
Thanks again for your reply and your help.
Cindy

Can anyone help me find details on Frederick Mount Wineman and his daughters?

Born in Pennsylvania in about 1851, he appears on the 1870 U.S Census, with his Mother Elvira Wineman (widowed) and his sister Laura.

By the 1891 Census in the U.K. he is living with his wife Mary (nee Candow), in Ecclesall, part of Sheffield, Yorkshire. They have 5 daughters,
1. Sarah Anne Wineman Candow, born 1879 (prior to their marriage)
2. Laura Wineman born 1884
3. Elvira Hilda Wineman born 1885
4. Ethel Wineman born 1887
5. Beatrice Wineman born 1889

I know they went on to have two baby boys, both died in infancy. All
the children were born in Ecclesall.

I believe his wife died in 1895 (with the birth of the second son). I have then lost Frederick, and all daughters except Sarah Anne, who is my great grandmother. They don't appear on the U.K. 1901 census, nor the later U.S census, nor can I locate a death record for Frederick.

Help please.
