Looking for MAry Winfield that married Henry JAckson in 1853 in Granville Co., NC. I think they left NC for the west but not sure where.
Also looking for Winfield Morgan that married Piety Weathers in Granville Co., NC. I am almost certain that Winfield Morgan and Mary Winfield are related.
I am trying to connect the Jackson's that married into this group. I believe that the Winfields migrated down into NC from Brunswick Co., VA alongwith the Jacksons. They seem to have intermarried alot with the Jacksons, Weathers, Winstons, and Morgans.

Hi, My name is William (Bill)Winfield and I am searching for information about my Great Grandfather Thomas Garret Winfield. I know Thomas Winfield was convicted at Norfolk, Borough of Kings Lynn Quarter Session to serve a sentence of 14 years and departed London on 12/04/1826 for Van Diemans Land which is now Tasmania in Australia. No mention of the name Garret appears except on his wedding certificate. Hi, My name is William(Bill)Winfield and I am searching for information about my Great Grandfather whose name was Thomas Garret Winfield. He was Convicted at Norfolk, Borough of Kings Lynn Quarter Session and Gaoled for a term of 14 years on 25/10/1825. He was transported on the vessel Chapman from London on 12/04/1826 to Van Diemen's Land. I have no information about him or his family in England, and am looking for help with my research. The name Garret does not appear anywhere except on his wedding licence in Tasmania. Garret must have been a family name somewhere. One of Thomas's grand children was named Patrick Garret Winfield. Hi, My name is William Winfield and I am trying to find information about my Great Grandfather Thomas Garret Winfield. Some of his decendants say he migrated to Van Diemans Land (now Tasmania) in Australia from Dublin, Ireland. I have not been able to find any record to verify this statement. I can find a record of a Thomas Winfield who was a convict and who was transported to Van Diemans Land on 12/04/1826 from London. I am tracing the Winfield line back but I have reached a dead end and would appreciate any thoughts/advice/info!

I have Samuel Winfield b 1800 in Nottingham married to a Mary Ann b 1800 from Hull Yorkshire. They lived in Mansfield since at least 1833 and died in 1875 and 1888.

My question is, does anyone have any info on Samuel and where I might start looking to find where exactly he was from and what his parents/siblings names may have been?

Hi, My name is Bill Winfield and in reply to your question about Mathew Winfield, my Grandfather's brother was Mathew Winfield and he was born on 15/07/1849 either in Tasmania or Victoria in Australia. Could this be the same man you are searching for? This Mathew(my Great uncle) was the son of Thomas Garret Winfield and Ann Winfield(ne Ann Gibney). The history of Thomas and Ann is clouded and I would love to know more about them ie where they came from etc. Can you help me with more information? Reguards Bill.

The history I have says he was a free settler however my research says he was a Convict and was Transported on the vessel Chapman departing from England on 12/04/1826. My grandfather was Melvin, b 1871,half brother of Jennie. His mother was Eliza Layton. Appears Henry was married twice, Eliza (sons Melvin 1871 and William 1878) and Mary Anne (daughters Jennie 1887, Ada 18xx, Tessie 1893, and Vergie 1897).

Hi Karen,

I have Sarah WINFIELD b. abt. Oct 1796, d. 29 March 1863 (bur. Vaughn Cem. Lafayette/ Sparta, NJ) married Abraham WASHER in Sussex, Sussex Co., NJ on 23 Nov 1816.

There are several Henry WINFIELDs, including Sarah's father and grandfather, but none born as recently as yours. Maybe your Henry was a son or grandson of one of Sarah's brothers; unfortunately, I have not found a list of her siblings yet.

This Winfield family are the children of Henry Winfield b. 1845 in Maine, Broome Co., NY and died 1929 in Hillcrest, Broome Co., NY. He m. #1 Eliza Layton ca. 1870 and married #2 Mary Ann Cummings ca 1885. Mary Ann Cummings was born 1864, died ai31 Glen Castle Cem., Broome Co., NY Mary Ann was the daughter of Fred Cummings and Sarah Waterman.
Henry Winfield is on the 1850 census, Town of Maine, Broome Co., NY as the youngest of 7 children of William and Sarah Winfield.
William Winfield (m.Sarah) Is the son of Abraham Winfield and Huldah Bennett.

I am interested in identifying who my ancestors were. My Great Grandfather was Thomas Garrett Winfield who I believe migrated to Tasmania in Australia from Dublin in Ireland. He married Ann Gibney and they had 7 children (6 boys and 1 girl). I have conflicting stories about his arrival in Australia. One story is that he was a Convict and when free married Ann in Tasmania, and the other is that he was a free settler and was employed by the Goverment as a Surveyor. He later relocated to Bendigo in Victoria. Thomas drowned attempting to rescue a person in difficulty in the swollen Murray River. Can you help me to find out where he came from and any background information. Thanks Bill Winfield.

I am a granddaughter of Walter and Alta, I have found one American Indian on the Smith line but, no proof of any on Winfield line.

My grandfather, John Winfield, arrived in America on SS Celtic. The Celtic sailed from Liverpool March 12, 1912. His nearest relative is listed as his father, John Winfield, and his address (if I can read the writing on the ship manifest correctly) is listed as 1 Trent Cottage, Long Eaton. My grandfather (and my father like him) was a lacemaker and settled in Rhode Island USA. Any information that anyone is willing to share would be welcome. I know that I still have relatives in England and would love to hear from them.
