Winkel from Roggentin, Germany to Wisconsin USA

Hi my name is Daniel Kenneth Winkel

My family came over from Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany Arrival: 02 Dec 1857, New York 8 Custom Germany 8 Departure Hamburg, Germany 8 Occupation: 1860, Laborer His Residence: 1860, Milwaukee Ward 6, Milwaukee Wisconsin

I was able to trace his father back to Roggentin, Germany and is name was Winkel, Johann `Joachim` `Hans`, Jr and his father was Winkel, Johann, Sr born before 1777.

Here is my problem, because I don't speak German and do not have any connections over in Germany I can't read the information listed on some of the web sites that may have the information I need to expand my research.

I know there are two main lines the came from Germany to Wisconsin around the same time. Because I could not find any brothers to my grand parents I haven't been able to make that connection either. I think it is there.

I also think that all the Winkel's living in the USA come from the same branch it is just a mater of finding the information.
