Amy was living in Richfield, Clark County, Washington in the 1930 Census. It said her husband was Cheston. But looking on the census, it was unreadable. I would like to know her husbands name, I have not found it in any other census.

Amy was the daughter of James Martin Cobb, the sister to Oscar Cobb, my step grandfather.
Parents of Ira K.Winne 1865-1955 and brother Seth G. Winnie 1860 -1928 of Cedar Hill, Town of Bethlehem,NY?

I am trying to determine the names of my Great Great grandparents and beyond. As far as I know they only had two sons, both farmers in the Town of Bethlehem, NY just south of Albany in the Cedar Hill Area. Seth G. Winnie 1860 -1928 (never married) and Ira Kipp Winne 1865-1955 who married Ella W. Westervelt 1864-1953. The gravestone at Elmwood Cemetery in Bethlehem has "Winne" on one side and "Winnie" on the other.
Ira K. Winne and Ella W. Westervelt had seven children.
Clara Belle Winne 1886-1918 married Asa Lasher.
Edna M Winne 1888-1952 married Edward C.Hallenbeck 1884-1961.
Arthur K. Winne 1891-1981 married Barbara A. Van Wormer 1898-1987.
Viola M. Winne 1893- 1971 married Fred A. Hammond 1890-1965.
Barent Winne 1895-1959, never married.
Ethel D. Winne 1890-1956, never married.
Ira K. Winne 1901-1986 married, no children.
All gravestones are in Elmwood Cemetery, Town of Bethlehem, NY with a large number of other Winne families from the 1800-1900's except Arthur K. Winne and Ira K. Winne who are buried at Chestnut Lawn Cemetery in New Baltimore,NY.
I am a grandson of Arthur Kipp Winne and Barbara A. Van Wormer. Between my brother and I we have four sons to carry the Winne name on.
I have searched through Elmwood Cemetery in Bethlehem to try to determine the parents of Ira Kipp Winne and Seth G. Winnie to no avail. Any assistance in bridging the gap to our Great Great Grandfather and Grandmother Winne would be greatly appreciated.

Alma Winnie, born abt 1870 & dau of Menza & Percis Winnie of Excelsior (Sauk Co.) WI

I have an original studio photograph of Alma Winnie, taken in 1893, which I would like to get back in the hands of family members. It was taken in Whitewater, WI.

I believe this Alma Winnie to be the same as the 10 yr. old Alma in the census of Excelsior (Sauk) WI, in the home of Menza (age 39) and Percis (37) Winnie.

Please email me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to this family.

Winnie/Whinnie;NY>Sibley, Osceola Co., IA>Sioux City, IA

Seek the Winnie/Whinney family, particularly looking for my G-Grandmother Anna Elizabeth Winnie/Whinney who supposedly was born in 1869 in Sibley, Osceola Co., IA and who was adopted and part-Indian. In the Census of 1870, Anna Elizabeth was in the Winnie household, being 9 months old. I have no idea regarding her adoption. My attempts to inquire in Iowa have gotten me nowhere.

Anna Elizabeth's Grandfather was William Winney, b. 1808 in New York. His wife was Eliza (or Elizabeth) who was born in 1817 in Missouri.

Their child (Anna Elizabeth's father) Henry was born in 1836; Henry's wife was Elizabeth Taylor. They were child-bearing ages when they lived in Sibley, Osceola Co., IA.
Their children included my adopted G-Grandmother Anna Winnie and I believe also there was a son named Henry plus a couple other natural-born children.

Anna Elizabeth married George Albert Spencer in Sibley, Oscoela Co., IA; my Grandfather- their son- was George Ellis Spencer (1894-1958, Sioux City, Iowa.). It was said in the family that Grandpa "prefered" my one aunt because she reminded him of his mother; Aunt Pat had raven hair and a dark complexion. The other children of Anna Elizabeth and George Spencer were: Eugene Spencer; Edna Spencer, b. 1888; Alice Spencer , b. 1891; Howard Spencer, b. 1897 and Lillian Spencer, b. 1900--all of Sioux City, Iowa.

My GGrandfather George Albert Spencer, died when my Grandfather was 14 years old, in 1908. My GGrandmother, Anna Elizabeth (Winnie) Spencer died in 1919 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Thanks for any help.
Kathleen
LPurch6636@aol.com

Henry Daniel (or Daniel Henry) Winney was b in New York May 8, 1835 (from Albany Co) and d June 17, 1910. He lived in New York until manhood when he moved to Davenport, Iowa and was married to Charlotte Elmivia Hayward February 4, 1857. Anyone have Henry or Daniel born this time in their Winne, Winnie, or Winney database? Am posting this msg to Winne, Winney, and Winnie Boards (they all appear to be possibilities with backgrounds in or around Albany NY). The Wynne family is also a possibility. Email me, but leave a reply to this posting as well, so others can share. aldwil@worldnet.att.net

I'm very sure all three of these names are one and the same. We had this/these surnames marry into my ARMSTRONG family line in NYS (Albany and Schoharie Counties, NY). The names go way back to the 1700's. Those who are searching should not disregard those by similar sounding but differently spelled surnames. My Armstrong related folks left the Albany/Schoharie area, first went to western NYS then on to IA, MI, OH, and beyond. cynthiakcorbett@hotmail.com

I was adopted by my mothers adopted parents. I grew up with my mother and met her 2 brothers once. Her birth name was Marie Margret Winnie born April 24th 1945 in Pontiac, Mich. She had two 1/2 brothers one was named George and lived up north with in the last 20 yrs.Her father was an alcohloic and died and her mother died of a tubal pregnancy. I wish I knew their names. I believe that they lived in mid Michigan, I grew up in Bloomfield Hills and seem to remember passing a cemetary within 50 miles north of there. Not much I am afraid. I have no adoptive family left that I was raised with and desperatly want to locate my birth family for myself and my children.
Susan/Mich
