The Winniford Family in Texas

My father was Frank Wallace Winniford. He
was born in Hunt County Texas on Aug. 30 1901
to Samuel Winniford and Ola Mae Fry. He is
a direct descendant of David Winniford of
Virginia who fought in the American Revolution. There were other Winnifords living on and around the Winniford farm at
Cumby Texas. One of them, Sherwin Winniford
was (and still is if he is living) a lawyer
in Waco Texas. Another is a banker in
Greenville. A book called "Along Old Fence
Lines" is a re=counting of folklore stories
in the Winniford family. It was written by
one of us as her doctoral dissertation at
the University of Houston and is available
at Barnes and Noble Bookstores.
