John Horace was my grandfather. His Dad was Robert Lee Winniford and his Mother was Margaret Lee Landtroop. I've been told that my great grandfather was the baby. He was born September 6, 1870. He died at home on October 18, 1943 in Cumby. Robert Lee Winniford would be Sams' brother. So, I believe that would make him your great Uncle.
Robert Lee Winniford and his wife Margaret had 5 children; my grandfather John Horace (the oldest), Everette Dawson, Ella Lorena, Lynna Nancy and Sarah Lucille. My grandfather died young from cancer. Everette has died (not sure when..I believe within the last 20 years), Ella is 95 and lives in Texarkana (she is where Shannon is getting her information from), Lynna died about 20 years ago, Lucille died probably within the last 10 years.
I hope that will clear a little of the confusion.
