Will of Isaac WINSTON dtd 6 Feb 1760 “I give and bequeath by my loving wf, [his 2nd wf] Mary WINSTON, one negro boy named Ben, also my riding chair and harness and her side saddle and furniture as also one negro woman named Hannah provided she will pay unto MY SON Anthony for the sd negro woman fifteen pounds current money within two years after my decease. The slaves and legacies I give unto my said wf Mary and to her heirs forever.”

“At the crt held for Hanover Co. the 6th day of Mar 1734, Isaac WINSTON, Jr. acknowledged this deed to Nathaniel WINSTON, ALSO SARAH THE WIFE OF SAID ISAAC personally appeared and in open crt relinquished all her right of dower in and the lands hereby conveyed to sd Nathaniel WINSTON. Mar 1734 Vol. 1733-1735 p. 202” (This Sarah was 2nd wf of Isaac, Sr., and not mother of Isaac Jr.)
DAR source has: Samuel WINSTON of Louisa Co. Va. His sis, Sara, was mother of Patrick HENRY. This Winston had seven sons -- all actively engaged in the Rev War, including Col. Joseph WINSTON of NC)??? I doubt this, but may be true.
