Re your posting of 10/5//2012:
I am glad to hear from another cousin. I, also, am a 5th-great-grandson of Johann Martin Wipff/Martin Whipp. Therefore, you and I are 6th cousins to each other. You are descended via Martin's son Daniel & I am descended via Martin's son Tobias (an older brother of Daniel).

I would be happy to share family-history information with you. If you will advise as to what specific info you are interested in, I will scan my records & try to provide a reply. It might be more efficient if you would contact me via my Email: fcsmeltzer@yahoo.com.

I am reviewing my Wipff/Whipp/Whip records and will send you a follow-up posting, tomorrow, with a summary of my genealogy findings re this family. I have traced the family back to the early 1600's in Switzerland. The family's ancestral home was the small village of Lohn, in the Canton of Schaffhausen, Switzerland, located in the north-central region of the country, about 30-miles north of the city of Zurich--close to the border with Germany.

I hope to hear from you.
Fred.
