My grandparents came to WI 1887-88 by way of Oneida, NY state from Ossnebruck or Quackenbruck, Germany. Christian Witte, wife Wilhelmine (nee Tecklenborg)1 daughter,Marie, born in Germany. Daughter, Johanna, Son Wilhelm, son Walter Lorenz Witte, born 1895 in Milwaukee, WI (my father). They went west to Sacramento, CA in approx. 1900 and to San Diego, CA in 1905 and then to Escondido, CA.
