Ah yes...I'm betting that's my "Joe"! The 1880 census shows LJ Wixom in Precinct 1, Hunt County, Texas, with his wife Hannah Elizabeth, 3 daughters, one son, his sister in law and a brother. I do know that the family moved at some point to Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Land records show "Hannah E Wixum" staked a 40 acre claim in Sec. 12, Twp 9N, Range 4E on July 18, 1892. The claim was released 4 years later. Their daughter, Ellen (shown on 1880 as LE Wixom) married John N Isham in Earlsboro, OK on 03-21-1985, and they had a daughter, Nellie May, on 2-11-1897. Ellen died a year later.
That's the extent of my knowledge on the Wixom side of my family. Joseph (as he's listed on Ellen's marriage license) would have been my great great grandfather... I'd LOVE to know more about the family!
