Does anyone have information on Gaido Wohlgemuth or his descendents? He immigrated to the United States in 1873 and settled in Brooklyn. He married Margaretha Rosina Lang and had 6 children: Frederick, Robert John, Hernine, Johanna, Maximillian, and Lizzie. Gaido died by 1900 and Margaret died sometime after 1900.

I am very interested in learning any of my family history, as I know very little. My fathers name is William Paul Wohlgemuth born 6/27 in New Mexico. His parents died when he was about 15 yrs. old first his father, and very shortly after his mother. All I can remember is that He had a sister Helen who died of dieabetes complacations, A brother Joesph sister Ruth ann, And brother we call Burney Who was a Professor at UC Berkeley When I was a Little girl. My dad died in 1995 in Contra Costa County CA,As did Joesph. Burney may still be alive in Contra Costa. If you can fill in any blanks I would greatly appriciate it. my email is oostacya@yahoo.com

The old story that they didn't remove their hats when the kings religious lead went by in a parade is not true. Check your history on Fedrick the Great - he didn't believe in a God.
Robin
Matthias to Jonathan

To whomever might read this:
I am searching for clues regarding Ann Wohlegemuth b. about 1772 of Mt. Joy, Lancaster Co., PA. She married a Jacob Bauman b. 1760 d. 1844. They had 10 children. Was she the daughter of an Abraham Wohlegemuth.
I found a Maria Barbara "Mary" Wohlegemuth b. 1775 in Cumberland, Allegheny Co, MD. This Mary Wohlegemuth got married to a David Gehr about 1798 in Mt. Joy Twp., Lancaster Co., PA. Mary and David Gehr had 11 children all in Crawford Co., PA.
So I am wondering if this Mary was the sister to my Ann Wohlegemuth?
Please email me if you have any clues.
Thank you for your time and happy hunting for your ancestry in this great world.

I would be interested in the information you have on Morris and Sotela Wohlgemuth. My husband's cousin is Olga Wohlgemuth (living in California) her grandparents were Morris and Sotela. I believe Olga Father's name was Joseph. Olga was born in New Mexico. I believe her mother's name was Evelyn. Evelyn, was married prior to Jospeh Wohlgemuth to a Gonzalez and they had a son Alfredo Gonzalez. Also living with the Wohlgemuth's was Rafael Swain (Evelyn's brother)who died of meningitis 12/24/29 at 16 years of age (I heard there was an epidemic in NM at that time). Any information would be helpful. Thanks

Just saw your posting and decided to reply. My grandfather was Henry Thomas Wohlgemuth of Collinsville OK. His parents were Hans Heinrich Wohlgemuth and Maria Wedel, they were members of the Mennonite community of OK, and as far as we can tell immigrated to the US from southern Russia. Maria's father was a reverend in the Mennonite church, but we have very little other info on Hans. My father did some research in the 70's on our family. But now my brother is the only one remaining that we know of. If anyone has any info I'd love to hear from you!
Thanks

My grandfather was Vere Francis Wohlgemuth. The youngest of the family. I met Aunt Emma a few times and just ran across a picture of my "Boppa" and 3 of his sisters. Boppa died in 1966 at 79. His wife Grace died in 1989. I am in touch with all of the cousins in Nevada related to Louise Wohlgemuth(Yeager-- Williamson). They are a prominent family in Round Mountain, Nevada where Mary and Louise lived. Louise's child Lillian was the Matriarch of the Berg family. The Berg's are still there. Many of the Berg children were named after Vere's sisters. We are very close. I am Cheryl Wohlgemuth Juhl. Glenn Wohlgemuth's daughter and Vere Wohlgemuth's granddaughter.
