I am researching my grandmother's polish roots. Estelle Theophila Vollack was born to John C. Vollack and Mary Bird/Ptak of Krakow, Poland. I have a prayer book inscription dated 1908 to Jona Wolaka from a P R Wolak, and notes from my great aunt that the Bird/Ptak side was related to Franz Joseph of Austria, banished to Poland because my great grandmother's grandfather wanted to marry a Jewish girl.
