Connecting Oliver Wolcott

I have an ancestor Oliver Wolcott (1795-1850), an am searching for a connection to the Oliver that signed the Declaration. Supposedly there is a connection but the information didn't make it to my generation. He married an Eleanor Powers and one of their children, Loren Perry (1835-1915)was my great great grandfather. Can anyone help?
