Heinz Guenther Wolff
Heinz Guenther Wolff, 69, of East 41st Street, Erie, died on Wednesday morning April 2, 2008 at the Hamot Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
A resident of Erie since 1960, he was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on December 14, 1938,
a son of the late Ernst and Else Walters Wolff. He graduated from Penn State University in 1960 with a B.S. in Agriculture and then worked 44 years for the PA Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Plant Industry as a Supervisor and Plant Inspector until he retired in 2003. He had also been a grape farmer in North East
and owned and operated his own vineyard.
Heinz was a member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church, the PA Nurserymen’s Association,
the NRA, and a lifelong member of the Siebenbuerger Club.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Caroline Kujawinski Wolff;
two sons, Eric Wolff and his wife Michele of Las Flores, Calif.
and Brian Wolff and his wife Amy of Waterford, Pa.;
one brother, Norman Wolff and his wife Judy of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.;
four grandchildren, Cameron, Megan, Natalie, and Anna Wolff; one sister-in-law, Linda Valentine of Ladera Ranch, Calif.; and five nieces and nephews, Karen Fornan, Keith Wolff,
Kris Kujawinski,
Karl Duffy,
and Lindsey Valentine.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt &Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie, (corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave) Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 606 E. 38th St. on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. officiated by the Pastor, Rev. Bernhard Bischoff. Burial will be in St. Gregory Cemetery, North East. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 606 E. 38th Street, Erie, PA 16504 or the Leukemia &Lymphoma Society, 210 W. 6th St., Erie, PA 16507
